Hi Guys,

Many pics are available.  Email me for them if you are interested at: [email protected]

Car currently has the "summer" i.e. vented hood on.  I also have the stock hood, which has been repainted but never installed.  Wheels are HRE's track wheels, fully polished forged aluminum. The roll bar is a real one, built by Autoform with full "down bars".

Billet mounts for the Motons are new.  Breather system with catch can, valve cover extensions, custom return fuel system with adjustable regulator and fuel cooler, over-sized aluminum radiator, 180 T stat, polished Paxton supercharger, etc.  Engine internals are all forged built by Exotic engine with only 16K miles on the engine.  Oiling system was upgraded during build and includes a quick fill Accusump to avoid dry start-ups, Jessel roller rockers, solid lifters, B & B stepped headers, Striker heads, upgraded spark plug wires, blue printed rotating assembly, heads are port matched to intake manifold, etc.

The exhaust system is stainless steel, custom 3-inch with full crossover by B & B muffler and necked up OE secondary cats.  It's also pretty quiet but very deep sounding considering its power level.  If you keep your foot out of it, it is pretty tame and very drive-able.  It screams all the way to the 6600 rpm redline if you push it a bit, which is not recommended for anything but long stretches of smooth pavement.

Tuned by DC Performance to make over 900 rwhp and over 850 rwtq on 91 pump gas, this car is very drive-able as it starts and runs extremely well.  The power is very linear and easy to control as long as you roll into the throttle.  You can really feel the torque as it's about 600 at the rear wheels at only 2200 rpm.  The performance is crazy at any speed in almost any gear.

The beast spends most of its time these days, in the garage on the battery tender.  I just don't have time to drive it.

Stopping power is provided by 2 piece Stoptech Aero rotors with the black hats.  Brake lines are stainless steel.

The rear tires are Hoosier A6's.  These are a must for full throttle runs or just easily crushing other supercars any time from any speed.

The diff is a Quaife with OE 3.07 gear ratio built by Unitrax.  The trans was built by Jon Donato.  The clutch is a heavy duty metallic piece that works very well.  ½ shafts were upgraded by Unitrax.

If you look closely while the car is going down the road, you can see the Accusump and the twin, staged rear fuel pumps.

The interior is standard black with a few MGW interior trim items to dress it up a bit.  The shifter is also MGW and the shift linkage is Hurst.  Both seats are lowered two inches.  I have the OE seat mounts, so the new owner can raise the seats if they are shorter than I am, which is likely.

The car has about 48K miles on the odometer, has never been hit or raced against other cars.  It did win the Nevada Open Road Challenge ½ mile drags two years in a row.  The current engine has about 16K easy miles on it, the trans about 1K.  The tires are in good shape as are the shocks and springs.  The car has Moton Club Sport Shocks and Eibach springs.  It has been corner-weighted and has a good street alignment.  It handles and rides very well.  The only one to ever drive this car is me, other than when Dan C test drove it after tuning or service.

I'm sure I've missed some things as there are just sooo many.

It is always garaged.  There is some road rash on the front fascia and hood which is typical of these cars if they are driven.

Title is clean and reg was renewed in April.

I'll be glad to offer a ride to a serious buyer, I'll drive, but there won't be any test drives by others due to the power level.

I'd really like to keep this car as it would be very costly to duplicate and sort out as this one is, but just don't drive it enough anymore.  I've gotten more serious at the track and that's where I've been spending my time recently; driving my 09 ACR.

Price is $70,000.00.

Regards,

Dan Everts

Guys,

Received an invitation from Cerritos Dodge to attend a Private VIP Viewing of the new 2013 Viper on Thursday, June 13, 6:30 to 7:30 PM.

The dealership is located at 18803 Studebaker Road off the 605 at South Street in the Cerritos Auto Square.

I have been asked to RSVP to Brigitte Raigosa at 562-402-5335.

This could be a good opportunity for the club to explore another possible dealer / sponsor.

Cathy and I will likely attend.  If anyone else is interested, please post here and we'll see you there.

Hey Gang,

Two great track events are just around the corner.

First, Speed Ventures will be driving Auto Club Speedway Fontana February 23 & 24.

Second, West Coast Racing will be driving Willow Springs March 2 & 3.

Both of these track outfits can be found on the web.

I plan to drive one or the other of these events depending upon the weather and will post here as these events get closer.

See you at the track,

Hey Guys,

If you've always wanted to drive Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca but were afraid your Viper would not pass the normally strict sound limits, this is the event to make.  This Speed Ventures weekend features a 105 DB sound limit for this Friday, Saturday, Sunday event only.  Even Vipers with headers should "pass sound" as long as you have mufflers.  Having cats would make your Viper even quieter.  If you have straight pipes without cats or mufflers, you probably won't pass.

I drove Laguna Seca last year in my stock exhaust 2009 ACR and had no issues with their normal 92 DB sound limit.  If you are OE, you will be fine.

We'll be running with Speed Ventures and I've asked Aaron (the owner) to give us a special heads up before registration opens as it will sell out very fast.  You can go to their website at:  www.speedventures.com for more info on driving with them, but this special event has not been posted as I write this and may not be posted for some time.

PUT this weekend in your schedule.

For more info, go to: www.speedventures.com

Please respond here and I'll keep a list of drivers posted so I can help let you know when sign ups are open.

Hey Sidewinders and those wanting to become Sidewinders,

Join us driving the "Big Track" at Willow Springs Saturday December 8 while some of our other VCA members are learning to "drift" their Vipers on another patch of asphalt also at Willow Springs.

Attendance at this track event will qualify you for membership in the So Cal Viper Club "Sidewinders" Group which includes a Sidewinders hat.  You can't buy this hat, but you can EARN it!

Price for this Saturday event is only $150.00 for the day and is open to drivers of all experience levels.  Instruction is available for novices.

This one day event will be a great way to learn the track and "warm up" for our Jan 5 Willow Springs event sponsored by Dan Cragin and Gary Wong of Specialty Performance Team.

SRT is rumored to be bringing a couple of Gen V Vipers out to drive on the track.  There may be some "press" invited and some other neat stuff going on too.....you don't want to miss this one.  Driver numbers will be limited.  Details to follow shortly.

For more info and to sign up go to:  http://www.speedventures.com/events/eventdetail.aspx?id=397

We can set up a dinner afterwards if you guys are interested.

See you at the track,

Track Events / Numbers for your car at the Track
October 25, 2012, 03:26:18 PM
Hey Guys,

Finally found a good supplier for "car numbers" for the side of your car on track days.  Most track outfits require them.

They are:

Saddleback Signs
20996 Bake #108
Lake Forest, CA 92630
949-597-1966
www.saddlebacksigns.com

You get 4 sets of numbers about 12" tall in a wide variety of fonts and colors for only $60.00 plus tax.

These should last about a year and look much better than "blue tape" numbers.  I put mine on for about the first 6 months, then take them off for summer and put the second set on for the fall.

They are easy to install and easy to take off.

Tell them I sent you.

See you at the track,

Dan  <2

This "Speed Ventures" high performance driving event offers run groups for beginners, intermediate and advanced drivers.

Instruction is available through Speed Ventures.

This is a great opportunity to run closer to home and save on hotel expense.

We can set up a group dinner on Saturday night for our group and maybe we can get Lance to spring for a garage!

Hey Guys,

Our first group track event of the fall is coming up in only 10 weeks.

Drive the big track at Willow Springs with West Coast Racing October 6 & 7.

As usual, WCR has run groups for everyone, novice, intermediate, advanced and race.

Instruction is available, the track fees are low at only $245 for the weekend which includes 5 sessions per day, and there are always lots of other types of cars to pass.

Please let us know who is attending and if there is interest in a Group Dinner on Saturday night and we'll set it up.

WCR's contact info is on their website at:  www.westcoastracinginc.com or call 626 285-2024 or 626 285-2515.  You can also download event forms from their website.

FYI, Willow Springs has just informed us that K & K Insurance now requires a 5 point safety harness (or 6 point) and a roll bar on all convertible cars.

Track Events / Drifting at Willow Springs anyone?
June 07, 2012, 01:09:31 PM
Hey Guys,

I've been trying to plan and organize a drifting event for our So Cal group.

I am currently xxploring a drifting class with instruction provided by Speed Ventures at Willow Springs.

Aaron's reply is below.

Please let me know here if you are interested either now or in the future.

Dan  <2

Hi Dan,

Yes, actually.  Bob Blizzard expressed interest a month ago and I've begun designing a program that will be open to everyone, but very limited in terms of participation (20 people max).  I just did a drift event for a private group of 9 people on Monday and it went quite well.  We taught people to do "Jim Rockford" turns :), which was quite fun, though more applicable to bank robbing than road racing.

If we lock it up with a group of folks from the Blizzard and Everts circles, great.  (We can always do more of these if it works out).

For the first event, two dates that seem like they might work are:  July 8 (Sunday) or August 5 (Sunday) at WSIR. The cost is going to be $250 due to the small attendance, but if we get enough attendance we will be able to drop the price and split into two half days.  Keeping the group small is important, however, because lots of seat time is key.

I look forward to hearing from anyone interested.  Please let me know your preference of dates AND if you're willing to attend either date despite your preference.

Thanks,

Aaron Bitterman

Hi Guys,

Need to sell a couple of Gen III hoods.

First one is an O E red hood that has a few nicks in it and really needs to be repainted to look perfect.  This one would make a good "spare" in case of an incident.

Second one is a Vipair CF hood.  It could use paint too.

Either one or both, make offer.

Also, I need to sell a APR CF wing.  Make offer.

I'd like to get these items out of my garage.

Hey Guys,

Michael and Virgina, i.e. The "Qs", have invited us back to Spring Mountain for the weekend of May 5 & 6.

For those of you that have driven SM in the past, it's about the best track weekend you could imagine.

I don't have details yet but can tell you that if it's like the last several visits, track fees are very low and include breakfast and lunch in the Members only clubhouse, our own run groups, i.e. Novice and Advanced, and more track time than you can get anywhere else.

Please post here is you'd like to attend as we will need to let the track know how many will be driving and attending (for meals).

There are a couple of hotels available in Pahrump.  Most of our guys normally stay at the "Nugget".

I'll post more details as they become available.

Regards,

Dan

THE "Q" GOT ROOMS (not condos) AT THE TRACK FOR US!
