Barrett-Jackson Auctions Orange County
June 23rd 2012
(http://www.kouchicentral.com/images/10-15%20barrett-jackson/DSC_3467.JPG)
As many of you know, the #1 Generation 5 Viper will be in Orange County at the Barrett Jackson Auctions. SRT is supporting the Austin Hatcher Foundation by donating all proceeds from the winning bid to this great Charity.
The So Cal Viper Club will be there to show our support of SRT and Barrett-Jackson .
DETAILS :
Barrett-Jackson and SRT have been working very hard to coordinate this event with our Region. There will be a huge presence there from SRT including their transport and the entire SRT line of cars. Barrett-Jackson has reserved the Car Corral for our So Cal Viper Club and the SRT Clubs! This means that we will have special parking privileges inside the gates of the Auction which means we won't have to park out in the general parking. Our cars will be on display for everyone to see and this will be a great way for us owners to show our support for SRT.
We will meet at 8:15 am at the Starbucks located at 2701 Harbor Blvd # D1 Costa Mesa, CA 92626.
At 8:45 we will leave as a group to the OC Fairgrounds and enter the Auctions through a special gate.
We need to arrive as a group and will be guided in by escorts.
Each car that parks in the Corral will be given a pass which admits 2 people into the Auctions.
There are a ton of cars, displays and things to do ALL day long.
The Gen V viper will roll across the block at 3:00. We definitely want to be there when the Viper goes across the stage.
Once we arrive, we will not be allowed to leave till approximately 5:00.
At this point in time, I do not believe that we will be getting any passes ahead of time to pass out and only those entering their car into the Car Corral will be given special passes. I will continue to work on getting at least a few extra passes so that family members can also get in.
It is very important that we show Barrett-Jackson AND SRT how much we support their efforts by participating in this very special event.
SAN DIEGO VIPER GROUP: If you want to caravan on to the Starbucks where Lance will be, we will be waiting by or before 7AM at the REST STOP that is about 5 miles North of Oceanside off I-5 (same place we've met before). We will leave the Rest Stop at 7:10AM. Please note time as we've made it earlier!

what time does this event start and end?
The gates open at 8:00 am and will close late in the afternoon. We have not yet heard what time the Gen V will go across the stage. Still waiting on Barrett-Jackson for word on a possible Viper Corral. If we do get a Corral, we may have restrictions on getting in and out.
Paul & Pam would like to be included in this!
Justin and I will be going. Please count us in.
Thanks
<o Paul & Teresa will be there.
Well after tons of email and phone calls, we are now set for Barrett-Jackson on Sat June 23rd.
Details have been posted on the first post.
I will continue to work on the fine details and will update the first post as they are finalized.
I tried really hard to get a special parking area out in the general lot so that we could come and go as we please. Barrett-Jackson does not control the general parking lot and therefore no special arrangements could be made.
We will, however, have a huge Car Corral inside the gates of the Auction.
I have received numerous email and calls from SRT and National VCA expressing their hopes that the So Cal Region steps up and shows how strongly we support SRT and all their efforts. We can send a very strong message by showing up in large numbers and being true ambassadors for the Viper and SRT.
This will be one of the first "public" appearances that the Gen V will make on the West Coast. For anyone who did not get to go to NY for the unveiling, this will be your chance to get a great up close and personal look at the REAL DEAL.
We have a great number of people signed up already and I hope that everyone will join me in the Car Corral to put a huge exclamation point on the Viper.
I'm in.
Add me to the list. Thanks.
I'm in too.
I am in as well. Thanks Lance ... great work, as usual.
I will be there!
Some interesting cars going on Saturday >m

Barrett-Jackson and SRT are concerned that the So Cal Vipers will not have many cars show up for this and have asked us to SHARE our allocation of the corral with other cars >1
My reply back was that we would need MORE than the 35 spaces that they have reserved for us in the Corral and that we would have an AWESOME Club participation for this event.
I know that the Shelby Club has the other half of the corral and that they will have an incredible attendance in honor of the late Carroll Shelby.
The Viper half of the corral is going to give them a huge run for the money and attention !
SRT has stepped in and we will now have a SRT Corral !!
It is very important to sign up fast if you want to park in the Corral with us. I need to let SRT and B-J know how many spots the So Cal Club will need. All other spots will be distributed to the other SRT Clubs.
Looks like cobras for lunch.
count me in as well
I won't be able to make it, I forgot about a wedding I have to attend >o
Count me in. Mikan plus one guest.
Mary and Ron will be there! Any plans for the San Diego group to run together.
Hey Lance, I think you said at the K&N event that this was almost borderline if we will have the cars needed to reserve half of the corral.
Any updates? If we don't have a special spot to park, I may just bring my DD since we aren't cruising or anything.
We are CONFIRMED for the car corral !! >g
The really cool thing is that we will NOT have to share with the Cobra Club.
SRT caught wind of B-J's plans and has negotiated a SRT only Corral with them, so we will be in great company.
I have to let SRT know exactly how many Vipers will be coming, so I suggest everyone signs up quick. SRT wants to give any unused spots to the "other SRT Clubs"
AGAIN, passes into the Auctions will ONLY be given to the cars that enter the Corral. They will NOT be giving us any extra passes.

If your name is NOT on the list and you want to park in the Corral with us, you need to let me know ASAP !
I need to turn in my car count very soon.
I'll be there, count me in for 2
Please add Rolf to the list.
I want to see the Gen V up close.
>8 Brent and a guest. Is anyone leaving from the Simi Valley, San fernando valley or Thousand oaks area?
I'm in!
Lance,
Would I need to wash my car first to enter the corral??
Quote from: redtanrt10 on June 14, 2012, 08:38:26 AM
Lance,
Would I need to wash my car first to enter the corral??
No. You can be just like the ORECA GTS-R
Are you going to come out?
Hope to, got to check with the surfer Diann, thinking maybe drop the car, go surf, then get back before 3pm. I'll let you know by tonight.
Here is the latest update:
I have to give Barrett-Jackson my final car count on Monday June 18th. They have a finite # of spaces in the corral and are keeping close tabs on car count.
Once I give them the car count, they will send me the "special pass" that needs to be in each car to get thru the gate.
No pass, no entry.
As posted on the first post of this thread, we will meet at 8:15 at the Starbucks located on the southwest corner of Harbor Blvd and Adams.
I will give each car that has signed up their gate pass and liability waiver form at Starbucks.
Each car MUST fill out the paperwork and will hand that to the guard at the special entrance gate.
We will head over to the Fairgrounds as a group at 8:45 sharp.
Please make sure that your name is on the list if you ARE going or have it taken off if you are NOT planning to park in the Corral.
I will not be able to magically get extra spots in the Corral after Monday and don't want to show up with less cars than we said we were bringing and preclude other SRT cars from getting in.

Your car is too fast for me to keep up =15

^^^Me too, please add one. >8
No problem at all ! Each Viper that parks in the Corral will get an admission pass which will let 2 people in.....so you guys are all set.
Lance, looks like I'll be able to make it after all.
I'm going to try and carpool up wit Jon.
If he doesn't have room or can't take me for some reason or another ill just take my car. I'll let u know today as soon as I talk with him.

>1 Okay, I guess I'll try to clean it up a little.
Hirk, let me know what time you'll be at the 405 and 10 and I'll try to meet up with you on the fwy.
Sounds good You want to set up a meet point and I'll meet you there?

SAN DIEGO VIPER GROUP:
If you want to join us and caravan to Lance's meeting point at Starbucks, we will be waiting at 7AM at the REST STOP that is about 5 miles North of Oceanside off I-5. Now that his remodel has been completed, he should have time and space to "cleaner her up" in his driveway.

This is going to be a blast, I've never been to one of these before. <L
Wear comfy shoes. While the auction itself has chairs, there is lots of action in the parking lots, and lots of vendors to visit.

Good advice. Wear your "driving shoes" while driving, then switch to the "hush puppies" for walking.
Paul, have a couple of questions for you.
See you at BJ.

Scott, Come on down and help me!!! No time to clean, I'll bet I got 5 hours of tire mark removal to do. But in the spirt of Lance's request today to "Please be respectful of that fact and be very humble in our actions" I will remove the track wheels and have clean wheels!
Hey Mike,
3M adhesive remover will do the trick on tire rubber marks.

SAN DIEGO GROUP: Last minute change so we aren't late to fill out forms at Lance's meeting point at Starbucks in Costa Mesa. WE WILL PULL OUT OF THE REST STOP AT 7:10AM PROMPT!!! The Rest Stop we are meeting at is on I-5 about 5 miles north of Oceanside. Please try to be there by 7AM so we can get on the road no later than 7:10AM.
That is a good idea Pam. Definitely don't want to be late.
I went this afternoon to meet with the Barrett-Jackson people and SRT.
We are going to be pushing the limit with an 8:45 arrival time. All the other groups are in at 7:00 -7:30.
We have the prime parking corral on the grass. >v
The other SRT Clubs will be arriving ahead of us.
I told SRT that we are there to support them and they can arrange the cars in the corral as they see fit.....But also politely reminded them that the So Cal Club did all the footwork to secure the lot for VIPERS. ;)
Lance, Thanks for all your hard work. >t

This turned out to be a really cool event.
Nice to meet Derek and some other relatively new active members and friends.
First time I was able to hear the 2013 Viper start up and drive around the fairgrounds.
It a real looker for sure, and a big step upscale for our Vipers.
Thanks Lance for a unique Viper Ownership Experience
Thank you all for coming out today ! This was HUGE and I can tell you that SRT was extremely happy with our dedication and support to the brand. Beth Paretta was very impressed with our turnout and loyalty to SRT.

Wow looks like you all had a great time. Sad to say I missed out on one great VIPER day. I sold my Moms motor home and went down to get her new one. Lance the white SRT Jeep looks Awesome wish I was there.

WOW, what a fantastic day! We always enjoy the camaraderie of this wonderful group of friends.
What a privilege it was to witness the newest snake in our pit slither across the Barrett-Jackson block and raise an incredible $300,000 for the Austin Hatcher Foundation!
>g
We recorded the auction and watched it when we got home last night. How great it was to see again the support our nation shows!
BIG THANKS to Lance, for pulling this special event with SRT together! The amount of heart, soul and hours that went into organizing this was obvious. Kudos to you, my friend!

Glenn and Stephanie are correct, Our greatest strength is our unitized camaraderie.
Again, THANK YOU ALL FOR COMING OUT ! Without you all, none of this would be possible.
SRT and Barrett-Jackson also deserve a huge debt of gratitude for treating us to an incredible opportunity and letting us be such a big part of this awesome event. It was sooooo cool to watch on TV, seeing our Club up on stage with the Viper and feeling the electricity in the air as $300,000.00 was raised for the Austin Hatcher Foundation.

Wow,
This really was a great event. Not only did we get to hang out with 42 other viper owners but we all became a part of history. This is the kind of car lifestyle stuff you live for, what an awesome club to be part of. Thanks to SRT, Lance all who put it on!
Lance, what can I say! This was another fantastic day for all. Visiting with the new "VIPER",
spending time with good friends and best of all helping out a good cause.
Thanks for putting together a great day. A special thanks to the SRT group.
Lance, as stated before, thank you so much for the hard work needed to organize this event.
Every single SoCal event I have been to since I moved out west has been an absolute blast. It is awesome to be in a region of great people who are all very active in the club.
I came from one of the most active regions in the country. I can say with confidence that I am having more fun as a viper owner now in SoCal than ever before.
<L
Great Job Lance and crew,
Thanks to all who came out and supported the club and SRT for this historic event.
Fun seeing everyone. Great group of folks as Glenn said.
We proposed a possible charity driving event for next year's Long Beach Grand Prix to Ray of the Austin Hatcher Foundation where the club would bring their Vipers out, visit with and give "parade" rides around the Long Beach Grand Prix Race Circuit to some of the kids / folks in their program. This would likely take place during the practice sessions before the race actually started but would be fun for all.
Let us know how many of you would like to participate.
See you at the track,
Dan <2
Great Event!!! Thank you to Lance and everyone that pulled this together - my whole family had a fantastic time.
Dan - count me in for Long Beach.

Thank you Lance and SRT! That was a very special event, especially for the ones that got to be up on stage with the new Viper as it was auctioned off! Very cool experience. >v

The LB event sounds like a great idea. I was going to ask Lance about next years grand prix to see if we could do something with that event. This would be the perfect opportunity!
