Will be interesting to see if more details about this come up during VOI.  Seems like the good news is that the Viper will get the special treatment that it deserves during the dealership visit.  The bad news is that there will be even fewer places qualified to sell and service the cars.  Glad we live in a major city!

We'll see how it all shapes up... From what I've heard, most dealers are happy with fleet sales for more profit than they will make on the Viper... Fleet sales don't require any special treatment.

A major Viper Tech, on the main forum said that dealerships actually make more $ working on Neons than they do Vipers...

So at the end of the day you have to ask why would dealers even want to carry Vipers? If you are going to make it more difficult for them to carry Vipers there has to be a carrot in there somewhere for the local dealer network.

I tried really hard to find the sales figures and purchase of other Chrysler vehicles & fleet sales by Viper owners that were mentioned by Dodge at the VOI 9 Saturday night dinner. Couldn't find it anywhere. Numbers like that will be important for dealers to decide to bother with selling our favorite car. Especially when the sales market has been dominated by only 3 dealers Nationwide...

I really hope that distribution and warranty repairs don't become a black eye for the Gen V... They've built a beautiful car... Hopefully this all works out and there are more generations built beyond the Gen V
Corsa Track exhaust, Lightweight Flywheel, Green Filters, EBC Red Pads, AB's 1200 degree wires (Blue) SVS Shifter, MGW Gripper shift knob, Color Matched Console, MGW trim rings, Racelogic & Dave's Underdrive Pulley going on soon :D

FYI,

There are some ideas floating around right now on the Gen V service subject that should work well for new owners.

Will let everyone know more when I know more.

Mr. Fangs

Spoke to people at Jack Powell Dodge in Escondido.

They indicated they are going through the process to be SRT and Viper qualified.

They already have a trained ViperTech, and sell lots of the SRT lineup.

They also are in the process of remodeling their dealership physical plant to give it a more modern and distinctive look.

Looks like San Diego will have a place to purchase and service Vipers  >g

Probably already been thrown out there, but they ought to have a certification process for independent, Viper specialists who have been committed to our passion, to be approved as service providers.
