Upcoming Events of Interest / Re: VOI 11 In Salt Lake
December 17, 2009, 09:02:38 PM
Hey Sidewinders,

I like the ideas about going to Pahrump and then on to VOI 11!!  I'll check the dates and get back to you.

For our April track days, we are all set up.  Spring Mountain is very open to offering "session" instruction which means that instead of hiring an instructor for the whole day, you can get instruction by your session.  I'll let you know as soon as the details are worked out.

Meanwhile, Johnny "Yuma" Weigel is coming this weekend with his hopped up robo car.  (Nissan GTR).  He is picking it up after a month in LV at a tuner shop and is going to try it out at the track.  He wants to dyno it, but the track doesn't have a 4-wheel dyno...I'm from the old school, big engine in front, rear wheel drive, no slushers or so called "paddle shifters"...

Track Events / Re: New ACR X track car

I called Dodge Competition in North Carolina on Friday.  I spoke with Tom Francis who is heading up the Viper program.  He told me that the initial build will be 25 cars with possibly up to 50 if orders warrant.  The cars will be built at CAAP.  ACR-X production is scheduled to begin in April.  The cars are to be delivered by June, which I think could be a bit tight for those who want to race in the ACR-X series since the race series begins in July.  Prefix will be available to paint the car in Viper colors in any combination desired or a buyer can take delivery and have it painted himself.  I will have Prefix do the painting.  The $110K price does not include painting by Prefix.

I have the one page order form if anyone wants to order an ACR-X.  All orders must be accompanied with a $20K non-refundable deposit.

Virginia and I are committed to running the entire ACR-X race series this summer and early fall.  To say I am excited would be an understatement in the EXTREME!!!!

On another exciting note, I have met with Club Spring Mountain and have the weekend of April 16-17 all set for the Sidewinders!  Dan and I discussed making the event easier to enjoy and we thought the Sidewinders would appreciate a conti breakfast and a nice lunch at the track.  The Club has agreed, so we will get full track use, the breakfast and lunch for $100 per day.   Since it is a Radical Race Weekend, both the 2.7 and 3.1 configs will be ours to enjoy!  The new condo garages are fully framed and sheeted so when the Sidewinders arrive, they will most likely be finished.  Hopefully more wives will come up and enjoy the fabulous amenities!

Hi Everyone!

Virginia and I have had an incredibly hectic week after everyone left, that's why I'm posting this a week late.

We had a BLAST!!  It was a 10 on a scale of 10.  I am proud to be a member of the Sidewinders and look forward to many more track events.  For sure, we will organize another event at Spring Mountain!!  We appreciate everyone coming here and enjoying the track.  Thanks for the kind comments!

Lance takes incredible pics!  I am going to write an article for the SoCal magazine and the Viper Magazine as well.  I would like this opportunity to thank Dan and Cathy who were a big help in getting everyone organized.  Without them, this event wouldn't have happened on the number of participants.

Lindsey is our membership director and wants to send everyone who drove their cars at the track a thank you.  Please send me your email addresses and I will forward them to her.  [email protected]  The staff at the track was very pleased and impressed with the way we drove our cars!!  She would like to send all of you a "Thank You" email, so if you want, send me your email addresses and I'll forward it to her.  [email protected]

Last Wednesday, we drove our Venom Red/Silver Coupe in the first Barrett-Jackson exotic car parade on the Las Vegas Strip.  Only 50 cars were permitted and I'm proud to report that we had 10 Vipers proudly driven in the parade.  Thousands of people took pictures as we drove by.

That's all for now...
