Since February is unofficially dedicated to the Drag Strip, a visit to the NHRA Museum in Pomona seemed to be in order. The Museum opened in 1998 and the 28,500 sq/ft building is home to over 50 years of memorabilia, vintage to current dragsters and a whole lot more.
Admission is $8.00
For lunch, we will head over to Coco Palm for a Cuban Buffet $23.50 each (tip included).
We will start out at the Krispy Kreme in The Block of Orange at 9:30 and leave at 9:45

Our track group is scheduled to drive the "roval" at Auto Club Speedway, Fontana this weekend with Speed Ventures.
Perhaps some of the group could come by after lunch and watch the action.
Dan <2
Please add Nino and Ruth to the list. I'm surprised at the number of car museums I didn't know are in the area. <I
I would certainly like to check this out.
>8I plan to attend. Never been to the NHRA museum, but hear it is pretty impressive.
Thanks for putting this together
After Lunch I plan to cruise over to Fontana to watch the Sidewinders play at the track. <2
Paul Hawker
Lance, I'll be there for the event and the Cuban food! =19
The NHRA Museum is interesting.
Cathy and I were there last year celebrating Mickey Thompson's accomplishments with his sister and her husband.
On the Auto Club Speedway event, we will likely not make it as we are driving the following weekend at Willow Springs with West Coast Racing. Should be a good size group of Vipers in attendance.
See you at the track,
Dan <2
<u We will be there...looking forward to seeing everybody, some great drag racing memories, and good food.
Jen & Jeff Roessler
Cathy and I will be there also. Lance I have friend who would like to go, can I invite him and his wife? >t >u
Add Ray to the list. I will more than likely have a co-pilot. <11
Add Demoe plus one.
Thanks
Eddie and Michelle are in I think I will go check out the ROVAL after lunch.
Hey Lance!
Diane and I are planning to attend plus (if my red car is out of the shop in time) 2 guests.

In order to make sure that the Coco Palms would accommodate our group, we have prepaid the lunch and will collect $23.50 from each person that is going to the lunch PRIOR to heading over to the restaurant. Please either bring a check (made out to the So Cal Viper Club) or cash. >v
Thank You !!!
I am bringing my buddy Steve! He will be eating with us as well. Just wanted to make sure we got him in the head count for Coco Palms. We'll have our money ready! Thanks.
Could not make it. I got stuck at work.
Lance and Lori,

A huge thank you to Lance and Lori for pulling this one together!
I think this was the first event of the year where I actually brought the car ;)
Thank you all for coming out on a beautiful Sat morning to close out the Drag racers month.
The NHRA Museum is definitely worth a visit. So many things to see. If everyone wasn't so hungry for Cuban food, we probably could have spent a little more time working on our Reaction Times !
As always, pictures are up on my site www.kouchicentral.com (http://www.kouchicentral.com)
And as always Hemotox posted up some great pictures as well >u

Jon B from Parts Rack sent down a NHRA Clock which we raffled off. Our newest member Bill and Diana won! Congratulations Bill and THANK YOU PartsRack !
I'm really sorry I missed it, it looks like you all had a lot of fun. I need to make it a point to make more events this year.
BTW- glad you got a picture of this car:

The driver of that car, Don Carr is a friend and co-worker of mine. He drives an old Cadillac now.

284 MPH at El Mirage dry lake !!!!
I talked to Don about it Friday, his record was 328 on the salt. I forgot to ask if it was at El Mirage, or Bonneville.
On one run he was doing 308 and couldn't get good traction and the guys in the control said he was fishtailing so much that they could read the numbers on both sides of the car!
