Just ordered a pair of these race car designed shoes, anticipating a few shifts on the way to VOI9.   They have a special roll heel design and re-enforced right laterat shoe edge for ease of transition shifting between brake and throttle. $75.00 and shipped to your house UPS.   They can be ordered online at:

Have a 2001 GTS coupe, 5K original miles, car stored in closed garage, tires look new.  Planning on VOI9 to Las Vegas, not sure if I should change tires for this run.  Anyone have suggestions?

Change to Eagle F1???  Or leave them as they are?

Here is a post I have had with Jerry De Young, President of the Mid Cal Viper Club.  They are caravaning with the Nor Cal Vipers and meeting for lunch in Bakersfield on the 24th of September.  I was trying to get a meeting place that all the California Vipers could meet at and then caravan into Vegas as a group?

"Jerry,

We are meeting about 10-15 vipers on Sunday the 24th in Hesperia, which is at the top of the top of the Cajon Pass at about 10:30 just west of Victorville.  It would be great to meet up with you but Bakersfield is a little north for us.  You will be coming east probably on Old Highway 58 to Barstow to eventually get on the 15.  It is about 130 miles from Bakersfield to Barstow.  I suspect it will probably be difficult to meet in Barstow as by the time you have lunch and transit the 58 it will be later than when we will pass through.  However, it would be awesome to meet up with you guys and caravan into Vegas with the Nor Cal, Mid Cal and So Cal Viper groups!   Would be photo and story material for the Viper Magazine. Let me see what the other guys think about trying to meet.  Any way you would consider maybe leaving a little earlier and meeting in Barstow for a later lunch with the So Cal Vipers?  This would obviously mean the Nor Cal guys are moving even earlier but this unique opportunity to have a group of united California Vipers caravaning into Vegas and the Viper Nation would be very cool!

Here is our website.

You can see the thread for the September 24th caravan to Vegas at

There is also a post on our SoCalViper forum from the Nevada VCA Regional Officers indicating there is a region wide Nevada BBQ in Pahrump, ouside of Vegas at midday on the 24th of September.

"Dear SoCal VCA members,

For those of you who will be in Las Vegas by midday on Sunday September 24 please keep our Nevada Region Barbecue (www.viperbbq.com) in Pahrump in mind. Pahrump is a short drive from Las Vegas and we will have caravans to lead the way for you. We have invited members of all regions to this event and expect it to be an awesome kickoff for your VOI.9 experience.

Thanks,
Nevada Region VCA Officers"

So, Jerry there are a lot of connection options on this day from everyone getting to Vegas any way they can to meeting up with the California Viper contingent at some central point as one moves east on the 15 to meeting a ton of vipers in Pahrump.  With the amount of travel distance and urge to get to Vegas on everyone's mind, the Pahrump experience may be a little too much.  But it would be a great time to get all the California Vipers together going into Vegas, n'est pas?

Sherrie,

Sorry I never got a notification on the Meet-N-Greet ORange County, so I did not respond.  Do you have an idea what day?  Looks like June is already happening with the Big Bear Run.  July may be better, was it the 3rd Saturday we were doing things on this theme?

Very cool inside info,  thanks.  Interesting to see how the strategies work themselves out between producers.  Corvette, Ford GT, Viper, as to new innovations, HP, style to capture the market edge.  I think Viper has had some stiff competition, especially from Corvette.  Ford GT is such a limited production car and double the price of a viper or corvette, that it probably doesn't come into the equation.  I guess individuals can get mad if they want, generally the truth is hard to keep covered, I am sure more info will be coming out.

Very interesting info above, thanks

Dave,

How many do we have coming to FLo's Diner on the 20th?  We should make a reservation for a large table, now remember, its the food not the accommodations!

Dave,

A some of the above threads are concerning the Sunday Caravan to Las Vegas for the VOI9 and not Flo's on the 20th of May.  (This may be confusing to most readers talking about Hesperia, the I-15 and the 138 highways).  The 20th of May is an informal Viper get together, at Flo's Airport Diner at the Chino Airport.  It is a great restaurant and plenty of parking for Vipers.  Would encourage members if they haven't brought their Vipers out from Winter Storage to dust them off and join us in Chino (see above map).  Best Sausage and Bisquit Gravey in the West!  And Dave is buying!!!  hee hee  :P

Thanks Mr. F, when are you going to VOI9?  Saturday or Sunday?  Probably Saturday, right? National stuff and all that VIP action?  We are getting a caravan for Sunday AM if you can make it?
