It looks like I will not be able to make it after all.  Sorry, Ace (and I) will miss everybody.  Have a great time!

Upcoming Events of Interest / Tour D'Orange
December 28, 2014, 05:56:21 AM
I have been going to the Tour D'Orange event for the last few years.  It is held every Jan 1 and it is about a 2 hour cruise down MacArthur to PCH to Laguna Canyon Rd, then up through El Toro, Rancho Santa Margarita, Live Oak Canyon Rd (a great, windy drive), north on Santiago Canyon Rd. When we get to Jamboree I leave the cruise and head home as it is close to my house, but they continue south on Jamboree.  At least that is the route they have been taking.  It could change but they have not for a few years.  And no cars on the road at 7am on New Year's day!

The last few years I did not see any other Vipers, but it is a big event so maybe you were there!  Hope to see more Vipers; let me know if you will be there and I will look for you.

Do a Google search on Tour D'Orange and you will see a lot of information, pictures, videos.  Many great cars and lots of them.

Tour d' Orange 2015 at the corner of Fischer Ave and Redhill in Costa Mesa,
We start Staging Cars at 6:00am
We start the Band at 6:30am
We pass out Maps at 8:45am
We launch the 2015 12th Annual "Tour d' Orange" at 9:00am

There was an attempt yesterday morning to establish a possible new site, and it worked out very well.  I found out about it last-minute so I was the only Viper there.  It was in one of the parking lots in the Tustin District, near JT Schmid's (off Park Ave and Tustin Ranch Rd)

There were almost 200 cars there - great selection: Lamborghini Murcielago and old Bora, many Porsches, old and new Ferraris, BMW iDrive, Morgan, Panther, etc.  I asked one of the guys who set it up whether it was going to be permanent.  He stated that they started working with the management firm for the site.  Then the Tustin mayor got involved, liked the idea of all those cars and all that potential business, so he stated he would contact the District owner's firm.  They plan to meet there next Saturday unless something unforeseen happens.

I plan to go next Saturday, Jan 3.  Hope to see more Vipers there!

I will be there!  Can we use part of the airport runways to have some fun?  I had to miss this year's Car Control clinic because of a family wedding, so Ace needs to get some exercise.

I just bought my tickets.  I am taking my new nephew-in-law, Josh,  who detailed my car recently.  We will see you at the breakfast!

Gary and Melissa, are you interested in leaving about the same time and caravanning to the breakfast spot?  We can meet at Carl's Jr parking lot, corner of Imperial Highway and La Palma.

I'll be leaving Anaheim Hills area about 7:15, going 55 south to 5 south.  Will I be seeing any of Ace's friends (Vipers) on the freeway?

Thanks, Ben.

Any North OC folks interested in meeting somewhere (Anaheim, Fullerton, Yorba Linda, Orange) so we can drive together down to Dana Strand Beach?

I wish the Duke's run was today!!  I would like to show off Ace.  My nephew did a complete detail on him yesterday.  Ace looks as good (better?) than when I backed him off the truck at my house 5 years ago (July 22, 2009!).

It will be myself and one other attendee.  Thanks!

Yes, I would like to attend!

I would love to join you, but am in Utah for the weekend.  Had the plate game last night - University of Utah vs BYU, on the Pac-12 Network.  Can't wait to get home to see the replay - my son already told me I missed at least 2 pitches.  Nice support from my family, heh.  Next year he buys his own ticket to the Family Picnic/Luau/etc.

Yes, thanks to Bruce and Dave for going!  It was nice to have a few other Vipers there.  My grandson was impressed - said it was 10 times bigger than he expected.  He enjoys cars and was thrilled to see all of the fantastic cars there (and then there were the 150 Porches, 200 Vettes, 100 Mustangs...yawn yawn).
