Hey Carl,

I found your OE lower windshield surround the other day while cleaning up the garage.

Let me know if you'll be up this way anytime soon.

Also, a group of us will be running ACS Fontana Friday May 27 with Speed Ventures if you can get away.

I'll try to make the OTR event since I'm off that day.
Not sure about ACS on the 27th yet.

I'd love to do Fontana some day but doubt I can make the 27th.  Although the car is prepped and ready to go.

I'll figure out how to get the windshield part soon.  Thanks for finding it.

Hey Scott,
Too bad you can't make it. It should be nice weather in the mid 70's and as of yesterday, only nine cars in the advanced group.
I'll try to make the 27th if I can change my work schedule.
See ya,

Fun day at Willow Springs today. I hung out with Carl who bought Dan's red GTS ACR (The car looked and ran great Dan). Carl's previous car was there too, the silver w red stripes. The blue 350Z was driven by a girl named Kelly who was a very good driver. She was the one who first introduced me to OTR.

Looks like it was a really nice day out there.
What kind of lap times did you guys run?

My best was 1:31.1 but I was a little frustrated because as soon as I got up to speed and was in a groove I came up on a slower car. Carl's timer wasn't working so I don't know what he was running. Kelly in the Z was a little behind me, not sure of her time. I had to leave at 1:00 after the third session but still had a great time. Very casual and laid-back event.  >v

Sounds like you guys had fun and the weather was very good.

Glad to hear the GTS is running well - after some development, it always ran good for me.

I had hoped to go faster but only saw 32s onthe timer as best.  Most laps were 33/34 later in the day.

The timer wasn't saving the times the first two sessions.  I suspect the wire wasn't all the way in as it fell out just before the 3rd session and saved times from then oh.

In the first session I was able to keep Ben in my sights.  traffic would cause me to loose a little then I'd pull in in some.   I did most of my catching up from 6 through 9...car was flying around 8 and 9.  I flattened out the wing and it was still stable.  The front splitter was touching in one as I had raised the rear slightly to compensate for the lower rate springs in the rear.

there was an older red porsche that carried a tire over turn 6 and flew down the back straight...must have been an older turbo.   However he threw out an anchor in turn 8 and I damn near punted him...it's a bit of a challenge to lock up the brakes in turn 9 at 130+....whew.....I passed him inside of 9 after that....

Have closed very fast on other cars in turn 9 but have never locked up the brakes there - that must have been an adrenaline rush.

Glad you guys kept the shiney side up.

Haven't driven Willow in a couple of years now - need to get back there.
