A beautiful spring time run! Eddie & Michelle Reinsma have set up this run again this year with a few changes. The Club thanks them for their work and efforts that will provide us with a great run. <u
MEET AT 9:00AM AT THE STARBUCKS IN SANTA CLARITA AND THE GROUP WILL PULL OUT AT 9:30 FOR THE RUN. After leaving Starbucks we will head directly to have brunch (about 10:300-11AM). Following brunch, we will drive on past the Poppy Fields (but the group will not be stopping) If you want to stop at the fields, you are welcome to do so. The rest of the group will head to Highway 14 where those who choose to head homeward can go SOUTH on HIGHWAY 14 back toward Los Angeles, and those who want to head out to Mojave to check out the Mojave Mile Race can go NORTH on Highway 14. We would arrive at the Mojave Mile about 2:30PM.
This would mainly be an opportunity to check out the Mojave Mile to see if it will make an interesting event for the near future. <2

I will arrange parking again like I did last year at the poppy reserve and at the restaurant there is plenty of parking so with good weather I hope we will have a great turnout for those of you that did not make it last year it is a real nice drive in the canyon roads of Santa Clarita. Eddie
We will make it this year but will drive up Saturday and spend the night in Santa Clarita.
Eddie, what are good hotel accomodations?

Change of plans we are only going to drive by the poppies this year a little more driving through the canyons with option to head home or continue up to check out the Mojave mile. See the post from Pam, thank you Pam.
Can't make this one, in Puerto Rico at a meeting. Would enjoy running the viper with you guys.

Mike it is never to late glad you can make it see you Sunday.
I would like to attend this event. Where are we having brunch? Not sure if I will continue on to the mojave mile or will just visit friends in Lancaster.

Hi all I went up to the poppies this Sunday they are just starting to come out the Ranger said it is going to be a very late season this year due to how cold it has been, so it will not be like what we saw last year SORRY !!!. Still we will see poppies and have a great brunch and a wonderful drive see you on Sunday. Eddie
Yup that's 2 years in a row I've been MIA for so long. Both times due to the car being in the shop. First time was when I got the Head and Cam Package in 2009 and the second time was when the engine blew up at Spring Mtn in June of 2010.
This will be my first event of the year! We have a lot of catching up to do.
The Torrance Crew will be meeting at the Denny's off of Western and 186th st at around 7:45 AM. We will hit the road at 8 AM which should get us to the Starbucks by 9 AM. So anybody from the OC want to meet up and caravan with us then let me know.

18620 S Western Ave, Gardena, CA 90248
Going North on the 405, you will take the Western exit. You should see the Denny's sign to your right as you exit. It is one building away from the ON and OFF ramp of the 405. Make a right onto Western and then you will make another right into the Denny's parking lot.

Nino called me around 4:42 and said on his way home he go sick possible from the food he had the eggs benedict did anyone else have a problem ? Eddie

Food went down without a hitch...was really good...Wife didn't have any problems either. Hope he is feeling better!

Well we started with 11 VIPERS and ended with 5 VIPERS. Thank you all for coming out sorry the poppies were not in total bloom. I will do a run again next year mix it up and it will end at the lake with a catered lunch if that sounds good. Here are the pictures we took.

The Eggs Benedict were fine to me, of course I did have my Hollandaise sauce on the side ;)
It was good to be back and it was a fun cruise through the canyons. No giant rocks or boulders in the road was a nice plus.
Go figure, with all my mods and taking the twistys in 3rd gear, my car gets bad gas mileage. And here I was hoping that head and cam package was going to make the car more green. It certainly made me spend more green ;)
Big thanks to Eddie and Michelle for leading the charge on this event. And thank you to them and Scott for taking photos and uploading them!
