Event Suggestions / Pistons & Pin-Ups October 2nd Car Show
September 26, 2022, 07:20:33 AM
Let's form a snake pit at the next Pistons & Pin-Ups monthly car show!

Pistons & Pin-ups combines the fascination of pin-up models with the love of cars.  Photo ops are available upon request from the models in attendance. Just ask! We enjoy a huge parking lot. Display cars use two parking spaces so there's lots of room for those with big doors in addition to big engines.

Ø  8:00 am thru 11:00 am

Pistons & Pin-ups Car Show Event

  • Sunday, April 3, 2022
  • 2890 North Bellflower Blvd., Long Beach, CA 90815 (near Starbucks)
  • 8:00 am thru 11:00 am

Pistons & Pin-Ups combines the fascination of pin-up models with the love of cars. Photo ops are available upon request from the models in attendance. Just ask! This event is dedicated to Autism Awareness. We have partnered with Autism Speaks, a global non-profit voice for autism awareness, research, and support. Donations and raffle tickets for one-of-a-kind Pistons & Pin-Ups apparel will be available.

This is a cars & coffee type of event meaning it's open to all car marquees. BUT, it would be great to assemble a line-up of Vipers. I will also begin filming for a music video. Having Vipers in attendance will certain add to the "eye candy" appeal. Com'on out and join the fun!!!

I made some changes to the dates of my proposed 5 day road trip to attend "Speed Week" at none other than the annual Bonneville Salt Flats race events...
___________________________________________

Hello SoCal Viper community! I want to share an idea I have for a road trip and see what the interest level is. I have most of the details worked out and will finalize it once I get some positive feedback.

Arguably, the biggest and best event of the year of the famous Bonneville Salt Flats is during Speed Week. In 2022 this super fun event occurs in August from the 5th through the 12th. I have read so many amazing articles on what it's like to visit this special place on the planet. The excitement and photo ops are once in a lifetime. This is something to check-off on my rather long bucket list. Perhaps yours, too.

Currently, we have two similar options for scheduling this 5-day road trip. This option is one where the day of the salt flats visit is on Sunday, Aug. 7th.

Bonneville Salt Flats Road Trip
  • Day 1: Fri., Aug. 5: Los Angeles to Las Vegas, stay night (280 miles 4 hrs 45 min) 280 miles
  • Day 2: Sat., Aug. 6: Las Vegas to Ruth, NV (240 miles 4 hrs)
  • Day 3: Sun., Aug. 7: Ruth to Salt Flats (135 miles 2 hrs)
    - Depart Ruth early to arrive before sunrise
    - Salt Flats to Ruth, stay night (135 miles 2 hrs)
  • Day 4: Monday, Aug. 8: Ruth to Las Vegas, stay night (240 miles 4 hrs)
  • Day 5: Tuesday, Aug. 9: Las Vegas to Los Angeles (280 miles 4 hrs 45 min)

Total miles: 1310

Let's go!  Stephen

Pistons & Pin-ups Kick-off
Car Show Event

  • Sunday, Feb. 6, 2022
  • 1788 E. Willow Street, Signal Hill, CA
  • 8:00 am thru 11:00 am
*future events: first Sunday monthly
*free to all!
*if raining event will be cancelled

Pistons & Pin-ups is the newest entry into the worldwide Cars & Coffee phenomenon. This event combines the fascination of pin-up models with the love of cars. Pin-up models will be present to pose for photo ops with those bringing show cars and with spectators, too.

While open to all car marquees, it would be super to have a number of Vipers attend and park as a group. Then, we can call this line-up "House of Slytherin"... something that will make for great photos ops especially with the five pin-up models who will be in attendance. Please RSVP and contact me so I can make special arrangements.

Pistons & Pin-ups is the newest entry into the worldwide Cars & Coffee phenomenon. This event combines the fascination of pin-up models with the love of cars. Like the magic of peanut butter and jelly (the cars are the peanut butter and the pin-up models the jelly), this free monthly 3-hour car show is sure to please. Pin-up models will be present to pose for photo ops with those bringing show cars and with spectators, too.
_______________________________________________________________________________

This event is open to all car marquees, so it is not Viper specific. Still, it would be great to have at least seven Vipers attend, park side-by-side, and comprise "House of Slytherin." If bringing a show car please contact me. Plan to arrive NLT 7:45 am. As always, park with nose facing out.

Hi guys and gals,
I'm leaning towards going to my second South OC C&C Saturday, April 17. Last time I went alone... fun but not as fun as driving to this great venue with others. I live in Signal Hill so a meet point somewhere between Long Beach and say Irvine would be ideal.

Unlike Bentley and Rolls Royce owners who pass Grey Poupon mustard to each other while driving, us Viper owners throw Jack Daniels single serve bottles. So the next time you come to a stop next to another snake, simply say... "Single serve Jack? Why, of course!"

Cheers!

After a number of years of exile from the Cars & Coffee scene, I finally entered the mix once again. On Saturday Feb. 20, I met up with a few fellow SoCal Viperettes at the C&C in Crystal Cove. Wow! Awesome cars on an awesome Saturday morning.

I've heard so much about the biggest and most bad C&C in the country, the one in San Clemente at the Outlet Mall. Like most C&C events, it runs every Saturday from 9-11 am. It seems to be pretty well organized with a staff enforcing the few rules. One such rule is no arrivals before 8:30. Gotta keep the peace with the local residents.

Saturday March 6 is when I plan to attend. It would be great fun to have a group of us go and park as a group to show the Viper colors. I will be coming from Long Beach. We can meet somewhere in Irvine and arrive as a group. More fun that way. If interested please chime in!

General Viper Discussions / LED Headlight Upgrade
February 08, 2021, 02:53:15 PM
I purchased my 2001 GTS in December. Since then, I've performed a number of modest upgrades... billet power steering pulley (yes, I did my homework), Roe Racing aluminum smooth tubes, K&N air filter, etc. Included in this list are PrecisionLED headlight bulbs.

I went to a nearby establishment to take a photo. In this same spot is where a similar nighttime pic was taken with OEM bulbs and with the fogs on. Besides being quite satisfied with the LED light output the photo I took without any effects or enhancement is way cool.

Hello fellow car guys and gals,
VALENTINE'S DAY ROAD TRIP - LONG BEACH/PALOS VERDES
This is my first post with this group and a good one. It's been some time since I organized a road trip. I'm ready to get back into action for some road fun. This is open to all cars, so not dedicated to classics. I am now taking RSVPs for the following road trip:

  • Valentine's Day Road Trip - Sunday, Feb. 14
  • Meeting place: Starbucks 1788 E. Willow St., Signal Hill
  • Time: 8:00 am (social hour)
  • Depart: 9:00 am (sharp!)
  • Group size: limited to first 25 RSVPs
  • Distance: 57.5 miles
  • Duration: 3 hours including (3) 20-minute stops
  • Destination: Noble Bird, Long Beach Marina, for lunch
This road trip will begin in Signal Hill (Long Beach area) and proceed to Palos Verdes-- a chill kinda drive with a few stops for taking pics and socializing. It will end in Long Beach Marina for those who want to join a group lunch.
PS. If enough cars join in I will arrange a police escort will lead our car parade out of the Starbucks parking lot and onto the freeway. Can anyone say photo op?
Please email me with your RSVP or questions. Thanks! Steve    [email protected]  M 949.422.1341
