BW too tight for most cars...WS and LS much better..BW was built in 95 as a kart track...
3.1 miles is quite a large cart track.  150mph on the back straight way is too tight? Do you drive a Viper or a Caterpillar on the track?  >w

Hey Jonathan,

Spring Mountain is MUCH IMPROVED in recent times.

Can you come out and play?

Dan

The car is ready to go.  Just need to get some fresh rubber.  Unfortunately, I will be in Stockton that weekend.  I am looking to play locally this month.  Perhaps Speedventures at WSIR this Sunday or Buttonwillow in a few weeks.

Comparing lap times from the Nurburgring and Laguna Seca with Spring Mountain is a travesty. Let the Vette crowd have their record at Spring Mountain.  Seriously, it is Spring Mountain folks. >w

It'll be fun to see Chris driving his new ACR!

He's going to love it.

I wonder what car Eric Messley was driving?

Dan

96 GTS I believe. He was/is a great driver.

The windshield can be done by any shop that handles car glass installation.  If the crack is very small you can also get it filled and it will not be noticeble. Have done that several times on the race car with no issues. Nothing special about a Viper windshield.  Unitrax is the way to go. 3.55's are a great upgrade. They have done all 3 of my Vipers in the past.  Contact Wheelsamerica for the BBS LM wheels. I think theyhave a place off the 10 freeway near Anaheim. I used a set for the track and had them reworked prior to selling them off. Good luck.

All registered for this Sat.  Also bringing down a buddy in his race GTS as well.  Both cars have passenger seats so we are able to give rides if needed. Dan, you still looking to get sub 2:00 correct?

Yep, I'm planning on going. 2:00 flat? No problem Dan, I'll be your rabbit. Piece of cake.  If the weather is good, we should have you sub 2:00!

Dan, that's a long drive to Buttonwillow from the hotel in Lancaster  >w

Had the identical failure on my GTS many years ago.  Dodge does not sell the plastic piece alone. You have to buy the entire unit.  I bought a used one for around $100 from Jon B.

Sorry, the lap top goes with the Race Pak.

Yes, there is an absolute noise level at Laguna Seca.  There are certain weekends when the noise levels are allowed to be increased (ALMS, Moto GP, Historics, SCCA Racing) All non racing events are usually 91-92db.  A Viper with stock exhaust will be very close to passing sound, but not gauranteed.  You could always short shift or lift going past the microphone so that you could squeek by.  An aftermarket exhaust with headers and HF cats probably will be too loud, but like I mentioned you could always lift.  You get 3 sound violations before you are booted from the track.  The major problem with the Vipers Gen 3, is the side exhaust.  It shoots the sound directly at the microphone, so direction of the sound is just as important as the decibel level.

If I didn't already have one, I'd buy yours.

Racepak is very easy to use and provides tons of useful info.

I'd guess that Pete Martin would be interested.

Dan

Well send him my way.  I also have lots of GTS spares available as well.  Liquidating the spares for the race car.  Race car and trailer might go as well.

I have a Race Pak and refurbished Dell Lap Top for sale.  Download your lap information directly at the track to lower lap times.  The Race Pak has been in the car for about 2 hours total.  It was previously owned by a So Cal Viper member.  Call me for pricing and details.

Still room available for Vipers.  There will be 4 racing GTS's and 2 Comp Coupes playing.  2 of the GTS's and 1 of the Comp Coupes have passenger seats so rides will be available.  I have also rented out garage #8 so stop on by, grab a cold drink, etc.  Dan, are you going to make this one?
