Dan Cragin (formerly DC Performance) has launched a new business, Specialty Performance Team (SPT) in Alhambra, CA, which will focus exclusively on Viper, SRT and McLaren customers.

SPT is hosting a private driving event at the "Fastest track in the West"... Willow Springs Raceway.  So...

COME OUT AND WATCH and hang out with our group!  Maybe you'll score a ride in the new Gen V Viper! Or a ride with one of our experienced (and fast) club members! PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU CAN STAY FOR A BBQ AT THE END OF THE DAY TOO.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE EVENT WILL INCLUDE:

    • Media from top automotive publications
    • Race Vipers from past and present
    • Viper Club members from near and far

    • Non track driver's "sedan laps" session, which is limited to 60 mph, no helmets required and passengers are OK.

If you're a Sidewinder, hopefully you've received your personal invitation.  If not, please email Dan to see if there is an open slot available: [email protected]

If you haven't noticed yet - our SRT Unveiling Invite states that the dress code is "New York Chic".  So I emailed Bobby Cerchione, our VCA Secretary, who also lives in the NY area, for a little help with this. For those of us that are ward-robed challenged, here's an article Bobby sent me regarding this very subject:

New Yorkers are fast passed and loud, while Los Angles residents are laid back and relaxed.  New Yorkers take cabs, the subways and trains to get to where they are going, while Los Angeles dwellers hop in their convertible and drive.  New York residents embody a style of classy chic, while Los Angeles civilians pull their looks from bohemian comfort.

The differing fashion trends and styles in New York and Los Angeles ultimately stem from the climate differences.  New Yorkers experience the harsh highs and lows of each season, whereas Los Angles dwellers thrive in warm sunny weather almost year round.

NYC chic is effortless sophistication, with fashionistas bundled up in enough layers to face the fickle elements. The city's style is made up of Wall Street business, Upper-West Side prep, Lower-East side hip, and various degrees of punk rock.  Black is the color of choice for these trendsetters from their heels and dresses to their fingernails.  New York style is everything but comfortable.

When constructing a NY chic look pair an embellished top with dark designer denim. Finish with a structured blazer or leather jacket and sky-high stilettos.  This outfit can be used to wear to work, and then out to play.  New Yorkers have to think about these kinds of things, because there is simply not enough time to make it home after a day in the office to change before going out.  (NEW YORK CHIC IS WEARING ALL BLACK)

I told Bobby that I was in a lot of trouble...

    SPRING MOUNTAIN MOTORSPORTS RANCH
    November 19 & 20, 2011!!

    Hey Sidewinders,

Our favorite track event the last two years is back again!  You don't miss this one.

     •   On Saturday and Sunday, we'll get to drive Spring Mountain's road course.

     •   We plan to include a continental breakfast and a catered lunch at the track both days.

     •   There will be three run groups, novice, advanced and a Radical group with a race.  This will make for a bunch of track time.

     •   Track fees are $150 per day.  This includes breakfast and lunch at the track in the "members only" clubhouse.

     •   All driver levels are welcome and instruction is available (required if it's your 1st time on the track). We must know at least 2-weeks in advance please!

     •   Driving suits and helmets are required by the track's insurance company for all drivers and passengers. The track has a small number of driving suits it can rent. You can call ahead and check availability (888) 856-5870; or you can buy one at G-Force Racing Gear. Prices for an SFI rated suit starts at about $110, a very good investment.

     •   Hotel accommodations are available at the Nugget Hotel for a group rate.  Just be sure to mention the "Viper Club" when you call.

Block these dates now as you'll never attend a better track event at a better facility for the low price that Spring Mountain is offering us.

For more info about the track, go to: www.springmountainmotorsports.com

Please let us know if you plan to attend!  ^2

    See you at the track,

    Dan  <2
