Title: Track tires
Post by: Speedtactics on April 24, 2012, 08:27:36 PM
I am looking for some track tires ASAP. I need a set of toyo r888 for the front of my snake. 295/30/18 would be great or a complete set of something else. Keep in mind I have to drive on these to spring mountain so I can't be running Hoosiers out there. Let me know what you might have. I need them no later than next Tuesday or Wednesday .

Hey Glenn,

Are you still planning to attend or did something come up.

Got a full new set. I couldn't put new fronts and used rears. Would have been a bad idea. Bought them local $1300 plus tax and mount balance.

Good call.  New fronts and old rears can create a handling challenge for a car that is already one of the most difficult to drive fast.

I"ve been practicing driving Laguna Seca on the Play Station 3 and sometimes intentionally switch to grippy front tires and hard rear tires just to get some practice driving a "loose" car.  I tend to crash a bit more often with this set up.

Unlike real life, I'm glad I can simply push the "reset button" and start over .....

See you at the track,
