Title: Rolling Stones
Post by: 10 BANGR on May 14, 2011, 07:30:05 AM
I had a stone/s strike the front fascia, left headlamp, and hood on the 405 fwy. Sepulveda Pass area.
It damaged the paint and in part of the hood is down to the fiberglass. (Vipair). $5600.00 in repairs.
The car is now at Scandinavian Coachcraft auto body for the repairs.
Anyone here have had any work done on their vehicles. What was your experience?
They seem to be very knowledgeable but how is their workmanship.

Thanks

Demoe

Ole is simply the best.  I went off track at Willow about 6 years ago ..... much damage.  He made it like new!

He has known Dan Cragen for over 15 years .... he is a true craftsman.

If you want to talk, let me know.

Sorry to hear it Demoe.  As Bruce said Oli is highly regarded and the repair shop of choice by DC.

Demoe,

Agree with the above.  Ole and his crew are about as good as it gets.

I'm not sure what you're having done but $5600.00 seems like a bunch of $$$$.

You must have been hit by a bolder .....

Thanks guys, I feel a lot better now knowing my car is in good hands.

Dan,
I thought it was a bit high for a new left headlight and two tone paint job on the
hood and front fascia. I don't know the process but I'm sure Hagerty Ins. can afford it.
I'm hoping to get it back before the w-end for the poker run after Dukes.

I'm thinking of having the clear bra put on front fascia, hood, and side sills.
Who installs these?

Demoe,

For the clear bra, TJ Wallace is the best around and is a club supporter.  714-350-6070.

On the parts, don't forget about Tomball Dodge.  Their parts manager Dwain - 281-642-2253 sells to So Cal Club members at cost plus 10%.  You will have to pay shipping but no taxes which is usually a wash.  They have saved me a bunch of $$$ on Viper parts, including oil filters, a 2010 transmission, Gen IV clutch, pressure plate, slave t/o bearing, Mopar Race Controller, etc.

Also, Viper Parts America, who paid for breakfast and lunch at our recent WZR, will give members a discount on parts.

Good luck with the repair,

Dan

Finally got my car back last Friday after some minor stripe issues on bumper.
I decided to go with the oem 08' style hood replacing the Vipair after market.
I'll be at TJ's tomorrow to get the venture shield film put on.
Can't wait to get back on the road with yall.
