Title: May 17-20 Nevada Open Road Challenge
Post by: admin on December 22, 2006, 06:10:02 PM
Beginning and Ending in Las Vegas NV...

HIGH NOON SHOOTOUT - The "High Noon Shootout" at the "Classic Corral" is an additional event available to participants presented by the SSCC. This event is a One-Mile and Half-Mile acceleration contest in Ely, NV.

SILVER STATE SPEED-STOP/Z2Z CHALLENGE - This competition, also available to participants, pits competitors against the clock to see who can produce the lowest ET for a standing start to 100 mph and back to zero.

NEVADA OPEN ROAD CHALLENGE - The main event -  This is a 90 mile timed event in which you try to maintain an average speed, as close as possible, to your class speed. The Nevada Highway 318 event begins just South of Lund, at White Pine County just north of mile marker 9, head South through Nye County, and finish at Lincoln County mile marker 7. The journey traverses 90 miles of two lane highway which is in excellent condition, with long straights, twisty sections, and dips, which for the faster participants, may result in an airborne experience.

Hey Lance,

Hugh won the mile.  He went 202 mph officially, 205 unofficially. <2

He also did some farming on his third run (went off road).  He's OK but the car will need some work.

I think he'll be at Big Bear this weekend.
