We need some cruises this year.  Anyone have a suggestion?  I need to get my viper out for a run with fellow club members (its a 2001 GTs and I have 5000 miles on it).  PCHVIPER, we need some fresh ideas for a weekend cruise destination, overnighter, etc.?  It can be a pick-up cruise with just some web site notice.  Possibilities, 101 Coast Cruise, Hearst Castle over nighter, Bakersfield and Lake Isabella, Laughlin, Anza Borrega Desert, Palm Springs, Palms to Pines Hwy, etc.  Comments?

Absolutely no one from the West LA, San Fernando, Westlake, and Santa Barbara area viper members showed up today in Mailbu for the Viper Get Together.  Except me, if it had not been for the solid Orange County Viper Guys, Lance, Bruce , John and the others, it would have been a bust.  These Orange County guys are the heart of the club.  If you live in the West LA and northwest LA area you missed out on a great breakfast.  Some great Vipers were there today.  I think we can do better.  There seems to be little or no communication of these events to the members, and I would fix it if I could!

It is that time of year!  Plan on joining us for the Annual SoCal Viper Club Holiday Event.  This year it involves a cruise from Westlake Village to the Fess Parker Winery in Los Olivos on December 2,  followed by wine tasting and then a cruise back through Solvang to the Fess Parker Double Tree Resort on Cabrillo Blvd in Santa Barbara.  There will be Viper Club party that evening.  Please click on the pdf file below for preliminary details.

The cruise officially begins at the Hyatt Westlake Village, (info on the pdf file below).  Members coming from longer distances, should plan to arrive and stay over night at the Hyatt Westlake on Friday, December 1, 06.  Cruise leaves the Westlake venue at 9:00, Saturday, December 2, 2006

Staying over night is highly recommended at the Fess Parker Resort.  There tends to be dense evening fog along the Santa Barbara Coast at this time of the year and driving home can be dangerous. Room Rates at Fess Parker's DoubleTree Resort are discounted from $289.00 to $189.00. Book your room under Viper Club Group. I have moved most of the images to the gallery as they were over loading the file uploader when placed here on a thread.  Lance, can you move your images to the gallery also?  It looks like you have already done this so can you remove them from this thread?  Apparently we overloaded the file uploader and it would not respond to new threads. Racecars Dave, can you load your images into the gallery and not on a thread, the same problem will happen.

I have an idea that would be great for club morale and get more people out with their vipers.  Me, for one, as I have missed several events this year.

I would like to suggest the following.  For each Saturday of the month, we set up a local viper meeting place for breakfast and getting the cars and members together somewhere in the SoCalViper region.  This would repeat exactly the same every month.  Something like this.  To view a map of the meeting location, click the HTML link below each specific Saturday event.

This monthly schedule continues every month, the same specific Saturday of the month for the specific region and the same breakfast restaurant.. 
The potential for a local cruise after breakfast would be up to the members attending the get together.  Members from other regions would know the specific Saturday event and venue if they choose to drive to a venue outside their area just to get together with other club members.

We will set up the same meeting place and the same respective day of the month for each region of the Viper Club, I think club participation would increase sharply. 
This schedule doesn't change, same place, same time and should bring people out with their Vipers.  The club is to diverse and covers so much physical area that to plan something and get everyone out means large driving distances and time for most members, whereas, a local specific day of the month would tend to bring people out once a month or more if they decided they wanted to travel to another venue to see friends.

I believe this will work.  I would ask you to think about it, starting in October!

Let me know your thoughts.  I am sure YoPrez-Racecars could be all over this!  I think having it at like Crystal Cove may not work so well as one has to get up and be there by about 6:00 AM, people enjoy having breakfast together and this would build club camaraderie, unlike Crystal Cove which is mainly coffee, donuts, wait around and then drive home.     This should be a SoCal Viper Club Event, not a major car show Saturday AM event.

It may be advantageous to designate several club members in the specific regions to spearhead the initiation of this so that more people come out.

I would appreciate hearing from club members around the SoCalViper area about starting this once a month local get togethers.

Have a 2001 GTS coupe, 5K original miles, car stored in closed garage, tires look new.  Planning on VOI9 to Las Vegas, not sure if I should change tires for this run.  Anyone have suggestions?

Change to Eagle F1???  Or leave them as they are?

Here are a couple of Viper Web Sites and information about the new Viper ZC coming in 2008.  Apparently there will be no 2007 viper?  Redesign and updating is planned for 2008.  Production is rumored to begin January 2007.
