Here is the morning meeting place at Richie's Diner in Murrieta  <m

Arrive at Richie's Diner at 8:00 AM (red star with the "A" on it), Breakfast and then leave at 9:30 AM to Oak Glen. We will take the 60 Fwy (Moreno Valley Freeway) to Beaumont Avenue, Hwy 79) north to Oak Glen.   Oak Glen is the famous place for the apple festival, has many shoppes, services, and attractions, ect.

Please RSVP on this thread as Dave has made arrangements for breakfast at Richie's diner and has reserved spaces for 50 people.
Plan on arriving at Jo Ann's in Idyllwild around 1:30, after some spectacular scenery and So Cal Viper Club photography opportunities along the Pines to Palms Hwy.  Lunch is booked for 1:45 PM at Jo Ann's on the circle in Idyllwild.  Optional cruise south on 74 to Anza and then back to Temecula as desired.

Dave

The Denny's at the I-10 - Hwy 79 off ramp is shown below.  We will have to cross over Hwy 79 and park around Denny's to let eveyone meet up after traveling on the 10 from breakfast.  We then get on Hwy 79 which turns into Beaumont Avenue on the other side of I-10, and head north to Oak Glen.

Tenative Route Map for the Great Pumpkin Run (delayed from last November due to fires in Big Brake's Hood !!!   ^7 ),  pending The Great One's Approval   >2

Right click on image title below, hit the "Save Target As" switch and save file to your computer "My Pictures" or the "Desltop", then open with your viewer to see full image.  Red route is leaving Richie's Diner to Oak Glen, Blue Route is continuing on to Idyllwild for lunch, and then optional cruise back through Cleveland National Forest to Temecula or Hwy 74 west through Hemet as desired.  Should be some incredible photo opportunities along Hwy 243, Pines to Palms Highway, as we ascend up from Banning to Idyllwild to an elevation of 6239 ft before entering Idyllwild.
(BTW, map is drawn to scale !)  <u

Richie's Diner to Oak Glen = 55 miles

Oak Glen to Jo Ann's Restaurant, Idyllwild = 43 miles  incredible scenery!

Idyllwild to Temecula  via  Hwy 74 - 371 = 59 miles
( Optional PCH VIPER - "High Performance Driving Tour" to Casinos on this Leg )   >4

Don't worry,  It won't take much arm twisting to get the Vipers out for this.

We missed you on Sunday Hemotox.
I've been really busy the last few days and haven't had a chance to post pictures from Malibu.  It was a warm sunny day with 16 people for breakfast.
I'll get pictures posted tonight.

Dan,

A man has to know his limitations~!  It's all in the Bling, whether wheels, tyres, SwixxVax oder ..............?

There was a rumor out of a sighting of the Official Pace car for the Great Pumpkin Run somewhere on the PCH south of LAX.  Secret on sight photos have made it to the Internet and fortunately I was able to purchase this previously unpublished Viper image.  This is top secret, special outfitted SRT-10.

I think we need to change PCH VIPER's name to NorthShore VIPER???  That's where I wann be...........   >b

Arturo del Toro,  What way are you coming in from the West Valley?  Down the 405?  I am taking the 10 East to the 60 to the 15, or could go via the 91, but then that would put us following "PCH VIPER's Orange County Viper Contingent" and you know what that means ???  We would be designated to the back of the line because we don't live in "Orange County"!!!   >h <B <u >2

I have a "Front of the Line Pass" for both of you.

That is, if you can catch up to ViperX   ;D
Title: Re: GREAT PUMPKIN RUN - May 10, 2008
Post by: NK BREKR on May 06, 2008, 11:25:39 AM
PCH, Thanks for the front of the line passes, but catching up to ViperX is going to be hard.

Hemotox,  Where would you catch the 405?  My current route has me traveling parallel to you on the 210 as you go down the 60.

I could drop down and meet you at the 60 where it meets the 71, but it seems to me as though we can save a few miles and minutes if we took the 71 to 91 to 15 as opposed to staying on the 60.  Give me your thoughts.
Title: Re: GREAT PUMPKIN RUN - May 10, 2008

Hey Lance,

We can go up the toll road to the 91, East to the 15 then south to Murrietta Hot Springs road.

Everyone will need a toll road pass or must stop and pay the $$$ at the toll booth.

Traffic should be light at that time of the morning.

I'll guess that drive will take just less than 1 hour.

Maybe we could hook up with Arturo and company????

Do any of you guys have a suggestion for a meeting spot?

Cathy and I should be in the white / blue car.

Just put some new PS2's on her with Sidewinder wheels, she looks pretty good.....still kinda slow though.....

Now just exactly where are all you "Orange Coyote Viper"..errr...  ah...huh, sorry, you Orange County Viper guys going to meet on the 91?  What is the exit and what is the time?

EJ

Arturo del Toro,  anyone else coming from the west side or the San Fernando Valley?  Thinking that we should be leaving @ 6 AM for me. for sure, it is like 90-120 miles away in Never Never Land of Richie's Finer Diner Cuisine!!!

PCH VIPER,  I assume by reading the post above that Shady Canyon is an exit on the 91?  7 AM.  Kinda early for all you wealthy semi-retired guys from OC eh ????   <u

Can't find Shady Canyon, you know thre are a lot of Shady Canyons in California.  How's about South Wier Canyon and the 91 at 7 AM?  Arturo del Toro, can you make this?  This is like going ot the moon to go to Orange County.....  Hello, Houston, we have a problem...   <H

EJ, Arturo and others coming from the far, far away interior valleys of LA,

Shady Canyon is an off ramp of the 405 in Irvine where we south OC guys have been meeting for about a year and 1/2 and caravaning to various events.

From there we can shoot up the toll road (Route 241) to the 91 then west to Weir Canyon Road.

If we leave Shady Canyon on time, at about 7:00 AM, we can be at Weir Canyon Road and the 91 FWY at about 7:20 AM.  We'll have to back track about 1 mile, but no big deal, you guys are worth it!  Their is a Shell Station on the north west corner of Weir Canyon Road and East Santa Ana Canyon Road.  There are a few other retail outlets there as well.

Click here for Shell Gas Station off Weir Canyon (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=8275+E.+Santa+Ana+Canyon+Rd,+Anaheim,+CA&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=31.481541,69.257813&ie=UTF8&ll=33.869079,-117.744706&spn=0.008044,0.016909&t=h&z=17)

We'll plan to see you there at about 7:20 or sooner, unless we hear otherwise.

Dan

PS  Lance, I'll try to drive like a  <o on the way out.  Also, on the way back, Cathy and I are planning to stop by CA Speedway and check out the piece of parking lot that we're renting for our October Car Control Clinic.  You are all welcome to join us - shouldn't take too long.

Hemotox did a great job posting up pictures so I'm not going to bog down the site with all the ones I took.

As always, you can find them on my site www.kouchicentral.com (http://www.kouchicentral.com)

Here are a few shots that Hemotox didn't already post.

Hey Art and Lance,

I tried this before ..... I bought my black SRT-10 for me and we both liked it.  Cathy wanted one too, so I picked up a red GTS for her before the new SRT Coupes were available.

Well, she liked the red GTS just fine until she saw the white / blue SRTC coupe at VOI9 Las Vegas.

You all know how that story ended, now we have three Vipers, and she doesn't care to drive the GTS any more, all she wants to drive now is the white / blue VOI9 car.

Be careful, this can be a slippery slope - Vipers tend to multiply.

EJ's GTS is one heck of a nice car.

If I weren't trying to find a way to buy a new ACR, I'd consider this one.

Hey Lance,

She's all for it!  So is my nephew, he thinks it's Bumble Bee from Transformers.

I believe it bud, after all she's always having you chauffeur her around town.  Make the case for the '08 by telling her that she deserves to be chauffeured in the newest Viper.

Those are great pictures you and Hemotox took.

Dan,

You can't blame her for wanting to drive the VOI9 coupe that car is Beauty on wheels while the other 2 are Beasts.

I hope I can join the multiple Viper club too.  I would give that Bumble Bee a very good home  ;).
