A few of us are planning to go to Supercar Sunday Feb 1, 2015 in Woodland Hills.  Meet around 7:15 ~ 7:30 am.  Any interest?
See you there

Sometimes at the Track the Tires will move on the wheels especially if you are pushing it. This can make the Tires go out of balance and make the ride become rough. Here is an example from last weekend at Buttonwillow Raceway after eight sessions.  Left rear side. The yellow line was originally lined up with the Valve stem.

West Coast Racing at Big Willow this Fall 2015
Saturday and Sunday October 3-4, 2015
Free T-Shirt when you sign up

                                     http://www.westcoastracinginc.com/WCR/Registration.html

Thank you all for coming out to the March 7th and 8th event.  It was really great to see so many old friends, and greet new ones to the fun times we enjoy.  We were well attended by the Ferrari Club of America thanks to Kenny Lombino.  Our next event will be October 3rd and 4th 2015.  Willow Springs will be hosting on the big track.

Galpin Motors, Bruce Schureman and the guys from Galpin Auto Sports will be serving up the Bar-B-Que and drinks at the end of the day on Saturday.  They do such a good job, you do not want to miss it.  We are lucky to have a relationship with Galpin Motors and invite all of you to look at their lineup of cars and the manufactures they represent.  Mention you saw them at Willow Springs when you do.

If you missed the March event, there is always next time, and next time is just around the corner in October on the 3rd and 4th in 2015 again on the Big Track at Willow Springs.

Thanks to you all,  Jim and Cherie Saxton

SoCal Viper Club Autocross and Drift Clinic
Saturday October 24, 2015

This year we're returning to Auto Club Speedway in Fontana for our annual Autocross and Drift Clinic. This has always been a very popular event for new and long time members.  The Speedway's huge Parking Lot 6 is an ideal place to take your Viper out and push it to the limit, gaining a full understanding of what happens when you cross the threshold of tire traction while learning to control it.

Thank you to our member Randy Tribolet for setting us up again this year with Naoki Kobayashi, team manager of Megan Racing. They are bringing 3 instructors to teach us the basics of car control through lessons in Drifting. Randy told us "I know some folks are a little reluctant to burn up their street tires. For $50 you can take out Naoki's drift car and smoke 'em all you want. They bring a truck load of tires and expect to go through some. They will try to bring two cars this year. Their cars are set up for drifting and a bit easier to control in a drift.  It's a great way to get a feel for it.  Last year, many of us rented the car first and then took our Vipers out afterward. I think that's the best way to do it."

Whether your goal is to learn how to full on drift your Viper or simply get the "feel" of having the back end slide out and what to do to catch it, this is the ideal opportunity to come out and learn.

DATE:
Saturday October 24, 2015

LOCATION:
Auto Club Speedway - Parking Lot 6
9300 Cherry Avenue
Fontana, CA 92335

TIME:
8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

COST:
$100.00 per car includes one driver and lunch.
$35.00 for each additional driver or guest, includes Lunch.
Drifting School: $50.00 per driver.

REGISTER:  http://socalviper.com/events/ccc-2015/

Since this is a Member's Only event, if you haven't renewed your 2015 club membership now is the time to do it.  Keep in mind our Holiday Party is also a member's only event.  Remember, half of your membership dues come back to our local region to help support events like these!  https://driveviper.com/join/

A huge Thank You to Dan Cragin of Specialty Performance Team for sponsoring part of this event.  Dan will be on site for any mechanical problems or future diagnostics on your Viper.

General Viper Discussions / Membership Renewal Time

2015 Membership Renewal Time

Just a reminder, if you haven't done so, be sure to renew your VOA membership now so you don't miss out on any events or issues of Viper Quarterly. Membership prices remain the same, $115 regular, $150 for Mamba. Visit www.driveviper.com/portal/ to renew. Southern California Viper Club relies on your membership dues to sponsor many of the great events through out the year.

Need New Tires?
Need new tires for your Gen III/IV (or V) Viper? Have we got a deal for you! Pirelli is offering VOA members
factory-direct pricing on their P ZERO and P ZERO Corsa (R-compound, street legal) Viper tires. These are the same tires that come as Original Equipment (OE) on the Gen V Viper. They also fit stock Gen III/IV wheels as well! We recently compared the Pirelli tires to the Michelin Pilot Sport 2's on a Gen IV Viper, and the Pirellis turned in faster lap times and provided more controllable handling at the limit, both wet and dry. (See next issue of Viper Quarterly for a full report.)

VOA can save you a substantial amount on a set of tires. Not $40. Not $100, but $800! Yes, that's right, save EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS on a set of P ZERO tires and a whopping $1350 on a set of Corsas over current tire warehouse prices! The amount you save on a set of P ZERO tires will pay for five years of MAMBA membership in VOA! Aren't you glad you joined VOA?

PRICES (Warehouse price / Factory Direct Price)

P ZERO Front P295/30ZR18 (94Y): $346/$250
PZERO Rear P355/30ZR19 (99Y)LL: $677/$375
Set of 4 P ZEROs: $2046/$1250
(A $795+ savings)

CORSA Front P295/30ZR18 (94Y): $481/$325
CORSA Rear P355/30ZR19 (99Y)LL: $970/$450
Set of 4 CORSAs: $2902/$1550
(A $1350+ savings)

Our good friend Dan Cragin is working on a track weekend at Buttonwillow Raceway
January 17 and 18,  2015

" Hey Guys,
It looks like this event is just about finalized for January. We will let everyone know. This will be great fun, we are all very excited. Here is an e-mail I sent out to my clients recently.

Hi Everyone,
SPT is helping plan a very special event for Viper owners next year and we need a commitment to move forward.
This two-day event will be the kickoff of what we hope to build into a series of events for Viper owners to learn car control and feel the exhilaration of driving their car in a safe environment on the track. We are targeting owners that have never been on the track but will have advanced sessions for experienced drivers as well.

Where: Buttonwillow Raceway
When: January 17th and 18th 2015
Hotel and Banquet: 4 Points Sheraton/ Bakersfield
http://www.fourpointsbakersfield.com
Cost for Event and Banquet: $395.00
This includes 2 days of track use and dinner banquet.
In order to make this happen, I need a commitment from you to help plan the event."

Please RSVP or call me 310-597-6295
