Quick update.

DETROIT (Reuters) - Chrysler LLC CBS.UL will start negotiations on the possible sale of its Viper sports car line in the next few weeks, Vice Chairman Tom Lasorda said on Tuesday.

"We've had a lot of excitement," Lasorda told reporters at an event hosted by Chrysler. "We will start negotiations in probably another three or four weeks."

Chrysler said earlier this month it has drawn interest from international and North American parties for the possible sale of its high-performance Dodge Viper sports car line.

Lance.

Glad you brought your new super wide angle lens to get the group picture of everybody.

Great turn out of Vipers, Lambos and even a beautiful Ford GT.

Think you still owe me some money for that raffle ticket. ; >)

Hemotox. You can even bring the Mini if you want. We will still welcome you warmly.

(Can't believe how many Viper owners also own Mini's)

How are the Mini faithful feeling about the new model coming out next month or so. Turbos instead of supercharger?

Big thanks to Richard P. for putting this event together. Fantastic back country roads, perfect top down weather and 23 Vipers in attendance.

Great job keeping us all together from beginning till lunch stop.

Is San Diego a great place to own a Viper or what?

Spoke to Bill Pemberton at Woodhouse when in Detroit for the VCA Presidents meeting. It is a bit too early to discuss pricing, but he expects to be able to sell them at some price between list and invoice. Depends on their margins at the time, but they want to move a lot of these when available.

Expect prices to be similar to current pricing, but with options for interiors and wheel packages that might cost a bit more, but less than Mamba pricing.

Most of the excess inventory should be worked off between now and when the 08s hit the streets.

Biggest decision is whether to buy now at the good prices being offered, or wait for the new model, and pay more for the improved drivetrain. We saw one prototype engine running on a diagnostic dyno. Really sounded like it liked to rev better than current engine. We saw 610 hp at over 6,000 RPM.

Sorry about the no show. My fault. The thread I read when I put the event in my calendar said it was going to be on Sunday. I even told new member Bill to join me on Sunday. Maybe Daves CRS is rubbing off on me.  :'(

Had a fantastic time at the track. Especially enjoyed the special parking that Dave set up for all the Vipers at the SRT sponsored event. We ended up with the best, upfront parking where everyone came into the event. The Ferrarri's, by comparison, were parked out in the boonies.

Everyone at SRT seemed to really be enjoying that a large slither of Vipers turned up to add that cache that only several million dollars worth of V-10 muscle can provide.

The 505 hp (rear wheels) dyno run with the Viper was the highest number of the day. The crowd really gathered around when the Viper was hooked up.

Great working with SRT to enhance both our exposure.

Previous Events / Free tickets for Coronado races!
October 03, 2006, 04:44:25 PM
VCA and SRT have provided the club 40 free tickets for Sat or Sunday's Vintage auto races at Coronado. Oct 7th & 8th.

A group will be meeting Sunday at Ruby's dinner in Mission Valley @ 8:30 for breakfast prior to slithering on down to the event.
I can pass out tickets there or you can pick them up at my home in Rancho Bernardo, or office in Miramar.

SRT will be providing cars for test drives, and Miss San Diego Vipers and her court will be there for photo's.
