Just got this note from Pam Winters, in San Diego:

A sincere  Holiday Tip for my friends &  relatives:

With the  Holidays upon us I would like to share a personal
experience with my friends  about drinking and driving.

As you may know some of us have been known to have brushes with the authorities from time to time on
the way home after a "social session" out with friends. Well, two days ago I was out for an evening with friends and had several cocktails followed by an after dinner liqueur.
Feeling jolly I still had the sense to know that I may be slightly over the limit.  That's when I  did something that I've never done before - I took a cab home.

Sure enough on the way home there was a police road block, but since it was a cab they waved it past. I arrived home safely without incident.  This was a real surprise as I had never driven a cab before, I don't know where I got it and  now that it's in my garage I don't know what to do with it.

Drive Safe this Holiday Season!!

Seasons Greetings.

A professional photographer has reached out to me to see if he could take a few shots of a members Gen V Viper for an upcoming calendar shoot.

He will come to you, and take some photographs, usually around sunrise or sunset (the magic 15 minutes). He will gladly give you a copy of the calendar or the shots he will use for your personal use.

If anyone would be interested, I will put you in contact with each other. He is based in San Diego, and would perfer somone local to reduce travel.

Track Events / Thermal SoCal track now open.
July 17, 2013, 05:06:17 PM
A friend, that is a member there, just called and let me know the track is now open and running cars.

They are a brand new, members only track that is down the road from Chuckwalla. Both are near Palm Springs. This looks to be a far more friendly Viper Track with a 1/2 mile straightaway!

They are not open currently to the general public, but I have been invited to bring out the Viper to check it out.

I will be gathering more information shortly, but just wanted to raise this awareness.

<L Came home to a very special gift from our SoCal President.

Do not wish to spoil the surprise, but the gift was well appreciated.

It evidences the special bond there is between members of the ViperNation.

Will accept the challenge, and be sure to take it with me, especially when over enemy territory : >)

Upcoming Events of Interest / KUDOS to Lance!
March 22, 2012, 08:55:26 PM
Just received my latest issue of Viper Magazine.

As usual it is a very high quality presentation with photos and articles representative of the National and Regional VCA clubs and their events.

This issue was very special, as our own Southern California President, Lance Kouchi, wrote and provided photo's for two of the largest articles ever. >s

The first was a very professionally written article, supported by superb quality photographs, documenting the joint event with the Arizona club as we slithered through Sedona and Slide Rock Canyon.

With Lance's very descriptive writings I was able to relive once again that fantastic experience along the Arizona Highways and cruising beside the streams of Oak Creek Canyon.

While this article was a dramatic 5 pages long, the next article about professional photography of Vipers was even more complete at 7 full color pages.

Lance showed his expertise and proficiency with his famous SLR camera hand, and pointed out some professional tips on how the pros get those money shots. >u

Lance has done so much to enhance the Viper Ownership Experience. Just wanted him to know how appreciated he is and how much the club has benefited under his guidance and leadership.

Thanks Lance. >3

Since the post Beach House Brunch Karting event was unavailable it was impromptu rescheduled to Wed, August 31st at 6:00 PM because of the 3 1/2 hour wait at K-1. >o

For those who have the need for speed, drop into the Miramar Speed Circuit this Wednesday  evening for some hot laps.  These are gas Karts, indoors, and reach some pretty fast speeds.

http://www.miramarspeedcircuit.com/

This will be an arrive and drive.  =15

I stopped in today to check it out. They have no groups scheduled for this Wed, and although it is a first come first served for available track time they expect to be able to get us right in.

Cost is $23 for the race. Electronic timing will be included, and I believe the winner of each race is included in the next race for FREE  >g

Take Miramar rd to Cabot. Head North on Cabot about 1 mile to the track.

Previous Events / Free tickets for Coronado races!
October 03, 2006, 04:44:25 PM
VCA and SRT have provided the club 40 free tickets for Sat or Sunday's Vintage auto races at Coronado. Oct 7th & 8th.

A group will be meeting Sunday at Ruby's dinner in Mission Valley @ 8:30 for breakfast prior to slithering on down to the event.
I can pass out tickets there or you can pick them up at my home in Rancho Bernardo, or office in Miramar.

SRT will be providing cars for test drives, and Miss San Diego Vipers and her court will be there for photo's.
