The back roads to Julian are exceptionally green and beautiful this weekend, due to the previous rains. Weather looks to be fantastic.

The roads around Julian have been freshly paved and painted about a year ago, so should be perfect for a brisk run up the mountain side.

The club did an event like this several years back, and it was very moving and rewarding. Eating lunch with an active group of in-service soldiers give you a totaly different view of the world than you will ever see on TV. They are fantastic and engaged individuals that were super appreciative of the attention given to them by the Viper Owners.

Before going to our final staging area, we were corraled in a clearing area. Specialized soldiers, with military dogs sniffed all around our cars. Not sure what they were looking for, but nothing dramatic was found. Watching these handlers and their K-9s doing their job reinforced how serious they are about the security of the soldiers inside.

Other soldiers scanned the underside of our Vipers with lighted mirrors and gave us a good visual inspection.

Once cleared everything calmed down and it became more of a relaxed party like atmosphere. We could joke with the soldiers and they were going nuts seeing all the Vipers as well as some free chow.

Super Patriotic experience and as real as it gets.

Not sure on the price, but before you sell your originals check out just hard it is to clean all those nooks and crannies on the beautiful and strong BBS.

97 stock wheels were stronger than the ones on the 96 (forged instead of cast) that were prone to cracking if used at the track with sticky tires. Someone who wants to track their 96 might want to switch over to yours if they track their cars.

Super thanks to Nino and Ruth for hosting another fantastic Barbeque get together at their beautiful home in the hillside.

Was fantastic to drive up to their home and see both sides of the street lined with shiny Vipers, as well as their driveway.

The food was delicious, the host and hostess graceful, and the company was outstanding.

Simply amazing how these special cars can bring together such a terrific group of like minded individuals.

Great San Diego back roads run. Perfect weather and lunch at the Sage Restaurant was super yummy.

Barona Casino greeters saw all the Vipers slither into the parking lot, and dispached VIP electric carts to give free rides up to the entrance
After lunch they gave a bunch of members a VIP cart tour of the facility, including the lakes, the rose gardens, child care facilities, generator and ice making (huge) machines, and explained how the casino has grown from a humble tent to a remarkable full service facility.

Congratulations to those who were favored by the Casino gods. More than covered the cost of lunch and gas.

We had fun celebrating Tony's belated Birthday. Hope he enjoyed the massage after lunch.

We had fun surprising those two Highway patrol officers, standing out of their cars in the shade of that huge oak tree, while we quickly slithered past.

Wonder where Richard will take us next year. Heard him talking about Idyllwild : >)

Made this run last year, and it was a blast.

Never been to Bristle Cone forest. Looks like a great side trip.

Appreciate Gary and Melissa putting together this unique event that provided insite into how the cars of the future are being designed, and getting to meet so many of the young students that will be guiding the future of transportation.

The collection of vehicles on the lawn blew everyone away. From hearing and seeing Jay Leno arrive in his Chrysler turbine car, the 5 or 6 Batmobiles from the movies, and of course hearing the 16 cal. silver bullet firing up it's huge Packard marine engine out of a PT Boat (for sale!) it was both entertaining and educational.

Fun way to spend a Sunday morning.
