Modifications / Re: New gears for T6060
November 18, 2013, 03:33:10 PM
Hey Guys - I just picked up my car and couldn't be happier with the new .63 gear.  To give it perspective, I have the newest Tremec Gen IV transmission with the new 5th gear.  At 80 mph, I am turning 2,400+ RPM and now drop to 1,900 RPM+ in 6th (dropped to 1,500 RPM before).  This is a significant improvement.

6th gear is now relevant!!!  Also, with the new transmission fluid, the transmission and clutch shift so much more smoothly.

I recommend this improvement to all Gen III and Gen IV owners.  All those with pre-2010 transmissions, should change out 5th as well.

Feel free to call me if you want to discuss.  Bruce (EXHLR8N).

Excellent post Lance.  I think you summarized the current situation accurately.

I would urge everyone in our region to give this some time before making any hard decisions or picking sides.  There is a lot of information and miss-information being disseminated.  In time, the real issues and solutions will percolate up.

Fortunately, which ever side ultimately prevails (or compromise), all parties involved in this controversy truly love the car and Club.  VCA is really made up of and is driven by the 3,400 +/- members world-wide that love the car, the technology, the closeness with Chrysler and the fun at their respective chapters .... after all, it is just a car club.  I think at the end of the day, the warriors will remember this and cooler heads will prevail towards a great solution.

That being said, all change is a process and takes time.  Regardless of what happens at a National level, the SoCal car club is strong and will continue.

Keep the faith and try not to get caught up in the "roller coaster" ride.  As cooler heads prevail, a very good solution will arise .... it always does.

Hey Rolf - I thought that Vipers go sideways very easily .... its just holding them there in one spot that's the problem.

Hey Derek - great looking bike ... I like in stealth!  I have a 20 year old Harley, we should go riding one day.

I am glad you came out.  The Corvette guys are a fun bunch.  Hopefully we can do a run one day with them.

Thanks everyone.  This was my best birthday yet, with my family.

Grace surprised me with a Route "66" party ...all came dressed in Harley clothes (one of my other passions).

I am looking forward to this event.  As many of you may know, I worked on this engagement a few years ago and helped Vic attract some new equity capital.

Edelbrock is a very interesting company, steeped in tradition.  Vic is an icon in the industry, and is one of the founders of SEMA.

The Company is one of the few manufacturers that still make everything in the USA.

I hope we can have a great turnout!
