Sounds like you need to bleed your clutch slave cylinder and refill it with fresh fluid.

I've found that a Mighty Vac works pretty well for the DIY folks.

I use Motul 600 RBF in mine, but change it regularly.  If you're not a track guy, you would probably be better off with OE fluid.

If your boot is just "torn" and not wasted, like Scott's, you can tape them up with black gorilla tape.  This has worked pretty well for me.

I have a 2005 with no mods at all, i'm wondering about the oil starvation issue with this long sweeping turn. what are you're thoughts on it?

Unless you are really haulin' butt on sticky tires and run a quart or two low on oil, you should be fine.

I'd add an extra quart of oil at the track and check your oil between runs.  Make sure you stay above the "full" line.

Hey Derek,

Get the six points.

Our SRT Vipers are set up for six points.  Installation is pretty straight forward.  You will want belts that accommodate a HANS device.

Also, most track outfits don't allow 4 points or will want to inspect them every time you attend an event.

Crow makes good harnesses locally.

I have Team Tech's in my ACR though might not buy these again - a bit spendy.

Subie Sports in Huntington Beach has some belts too.

See you at the track,

We've had good luck with TJ Wallace for clear bras.

TJ's phone number is 714-350-6070.

I used the teflon coated clear bra on my ACR and it cleans up very easily compared to the regular clear bra.

Good luck,

Saturday weather was very good with some fast laps run by all.

We did have a few discourteous drivers.  Check Mike Buckingham's video on Youtube.  Mike can chime in and get you the link.

Got windy on Sunday PM, most of us left a bit early.

Wish you could have made it.

I use R hooks too with a chain link premanently attached to them.

Helps with the ACR as it's pretty low.

Good luck,

>g  My fastest lap time at Fontana Speedway was a  2.00.  Has anybody else raced there and if so what time did you get?

Matthew

That is a good time for your first time out.  After some practice, you will get into the mid 1:50s.  After more practice, you can get into the low 1:50's.  To get lower, you will likely want instruction.  When you get under 1:50, you will be running in the Race group with most track outfits.

Myself and some other club members normally run in the race group.

Keep practicing and be careful at ACS, lots of walls.....

See you at the track,

Bummer, I missed the event, and a rare visit from Vypr Phil.  Happy to hear you're on the mend Phil!

I missed it too Art.  Left the house later than planned, about 11:00 AM and planned to be there by lunch.  I ended up stuck in traffic until 12:30PM at just over half way there.  Decided to turn around and get back home (to work).

See you next time,

Dan  <2
