The OC Pantera Club runs a nice track event at Willow Springs.  We went last time and found it busy but fun.  You get a chance to "run down" Corvettes, Ferraris, Panteras, Porches, etc.  Highlights are as follows:

1 - They have multiple run groups and a race group - lots of track time. 
2 - Track fees are only $225 if you sign up before Feb 20 - $250 after and they always sell out. 
3 - Passengers are allowed - 18 and over.
4 - You can share a car with a friend. 
5 - They also provide instructors.
6 - The atmosphere is relaxed and limited to 120 cars with 4 run groups.

Thought you guys might like to know.  The Conner Ave Assembly Plant (Viper Plant)  is scheduled to be closed until March or April of 2007.   Tours will not be given until the plant reopens.   We'll send a note advising once the plant reopens.  Once it reopens, we assume VCA member only tours can be scheduled.

This will likely impact availabilty of 2008 Vipers.

Last Saturday of the Month Viper Owners Get Together, Carlsbad - - FOR WHEN THERE IS NO OTHER SCHEDULED EVENT An informal monthly get together for Viper owners.

San Diego, Carlsbad, Temecula, Murietta, Riverside and all interested - A car show and breakfast at Ruby's.  This event is coordinated by Dave (Oh Great One) Cawthorne and repeats every 4th Saturday of each month. 

The Carlsbad Car Show starts at 7:00 AM and includes Vipers and other exotics.  The Viper Group normally stays for breakfast at Ruby's which starts about 8:30 AM.

Kevin put on a nice spread.  You guys that didn't make this missed a good show, good music, some neat cars, a giant boat with Viper engines, good food and good company.  Hopefully, he'll do this again next year.

I should have the black beast back this week.  I'll likely take it to Irvine next Saturday Jan 6 and then do a little huntin' ..... weather permitting of course.8)

Hey Dave.  No ties for me, never again.  I swore them off after 10 years of wearing suits and ties almost every day.

I'll be wearing slacks and a collared shirt, about like last year's Christmas Party.  That's how I define "business casual".  This should be OK for even you, Dave! 8) 

Perhaps some of us can meet at the Irvine Car show before, go to breakfast and then tour Saleen.

We haven't heard much from your area yet but you can always meet up with some of us in OC.

We will of course cruise up PCH from Fashion Island to Huntington Beach (Subes location).

Preliminary thoughts on the 2007 Viper Christmas party:

1)  Date is Dec 8, 2007 - so mark your calendars now.

2)  It will be in the OC - very central location for all.

3)  Goodies, yes, I have some nifty Viper goodies already.  Anybody who wants to help can try and get some more.

4)  Likely a bit dressier event than most, business casual or better.  Ladies can wear nice dresses, etc. - they like this.

5)  Should have a band and may do some dancing (not me!)

6)  Will likely be a "strolling buffet" dinner / setting.

7)  May be some awards - we have some ideas.

8)  Other ideas / suggestions are welcome.

9)  It would be EXTREMELY helpful to get an advance idea of the number of attendees as soon as possible as this could be very costly to the club if, for example, we plan for 100 and get only 50.  Please let us know as soon as you can.

Hey Al,

The Saleen plant is fun to tour.  If we are going to do this tour, we should combine it with a trip to Irivne and possibly breakfast.  Check the event calendar and let us know.

Cathy and I normally go to some car show on Saturday morning but slept in this morning.

Had a late night last  night......
