Track Events / Drifting in Las Vegas Anyone?
November 28, 2011, 05:09:10 PM
All Sidewinders (and other Viper owners too!)

Speaking with Juan Valdez (yes, that's his real name) at Spring Mountain a short time back, Juan has found an outfit that teaches drifting "in your own car" somewhere near Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

I thought this sounded like it could be fun for many in our group; especially when combined with all that Vegas has to offer.  Things like a road trip, adult beverages, card games, etc., etc.  >v come to mind.  Cathy and I plan to join Juan for this event.  When he gets the details to me, I'll pass the info on to those of you that are interested.

This won't likely happen until some time after the first of the year, so please let me know if there is any interest in joining us in Vegas for some driving / drifting and other "adult" fun.

For Sale - Parts / ACR OE KW shocks and springs, 2009
October 02, 2011, 05:19:17 PM
Hey Guys,

Selling a set of OE KW ACR shocks and springs.

They've been sitting in storage since I took them off of my 09 ACR when it had only 500 miles on it (one track event).

They are in excellent shape.

I recently posted them on the VCA board, so I thought I'd post them here too.

Asking price it $3000.00.

Hey Guys,

Cathy's tired of the extra power and volume that the Belanger headers and high flow cats make on her white / blue striped 06 coupe, so the headers and cats are for sale.

Car will be at DC Performance tomorrow to have them removed and the OE exhaust re-installed.

Let me know if there is any interest locally as I've already posted them on the VCA board.  I think the asking price is about 50% of new or about $1600.00.  They are in excellent condition (car is garaged) and she doesn't drive it very hard.

Track Events / AROUND CHUCKWALLA VIDEO, March 2011
April 06, 2011, 03:43:09 PM
Hey Guys,

Check out this video clip.

I ran these two laps "CCW" at NARRA's Chuckwalla event Sunday morning during the second half of the first session after a few tips from Bob Blizzard.

This should give you a good idea of the track if you should ever want to drive it.

Enjoy,

Dan  <2

PS  First lap was 1:57.5, second lap was 1:58.2

Track Events / Pre Viper Days practice anyone?
March 04, 2011, 11:02:40 AM
Hello Sidewinders,

Here's the deal with Chuckwalla for Tuesday, March 15th Open Track Day – they want $5,000 for the day.  With only 10-15 drivers, that's a little steep.  So, we'd like to get a firm headcount of those who want to attend (provided we get the appropriate numbers to keep the cost reasonable).

Please let us know if you plan to go as we'll need to let the track know by Tuesday, March 8th.

There is another option for those of you who would like to get some track time before Viper Days.  Speed Ventures will be running Buttonwillow March 12th and 13th.  If we can't enough drivers for the open track day at Chuckwalla March 15th, I will likely drive Buttonwillow with Speed Ventures.

Thanks in advance for letting us know A.S.A.P.

See you at the track,

Dan

For more info on NARRA/Viper Days, go to:  http://dev.narraonline.com/schedule.html

For more info on Chuckwalla, go to: www.chuckwallavalleyraceway.com

Also, for those of you who haven't run Chuckwalla yet and would like to run it before Viper Days, we have an opportunity if we can get enough participation.  Chuckwalla will offer an open lapping day for us on Tuesday, March 15.  We'll need at least 10 cars to get this done, so please let me know ASAP by posting here.  Open lapping days are fun as you can run any time you want during the day while the track is "hot".

I'll post more info as it becomes available.

See you at the track,

Our pleasure Dan!

We appreciate the business you send us.

If anyone you know wants a Mopar Performance powertrain controller, I am selling them for dealer net ($955) through the end of January.
I have a couple and we will pay shipping fees via UPS ground.

Thanks,

This is a very good deal for those of you with Gen IV cars who want the benefits of the Mopar Race Controller.

I think I paid $1100 for mine a year and a half ago and that was a great deal then.

Not sure if these will be available in the future and they are an easy swap in and out of the car.

FYI, Tomball Dodge also gives So Cal Club Members cost plus 10% on all Dodge Parts, including Mopar aftermarket accessories.  This is where I buy my oil filters, in bulk, and all other OE Viper Parts.

Track Events / Run Chuckwalla Raceway Tuesday, Dec 14
December 01, 2010, 09:53:10 AM
Hey Sidewinders,

As you may or may not know, Viper Days will be running Chuckwalla Raceway which is East of Indio, CA on March 25, 26 & 27, 2011.  I thought it might be a good idea for us to familiarize ourselves with this local track before Viper Days comes to town.

I spoke with Mickey Grana (760-227-3100), operator of of Chuckwalla, a few days ago about this upcoming open track day which is Tuesday December 14, and will be the last open track day this year.

Price is $150 per day plus $10 per person access fee.  Track goes hot at 9:00 AM, cold at 4:00 PM.  Attendance will likely be very light, like 10 to 20 cars and if so, the track will be open all day long with point by passing - so lots of track time will be available.

Cathy and I are planning to go, weather permitting.  Bob Blizzard and Ross Murray may join us as well.

For more info, go to:  www.chuckwallavalleyraceway.com

List of attendees so far:

For Sale - Vehicles / Selling my enclosed trailer
October 08, 2010, 06:03:17 PM
Well, the new (longer) trailer is complete - I'm picking it up next week.  I now need to sell my current enclosed car trailer.

Most of you have seen it, but details are as follows:

It's a 2004 Carson Racer,  approximately 18 feet long inside and approximately 21 feet overall.  Weight is under 3000 lbs empty.

It is red with white stripes, has a black and white checkerboard floor, white finished interior sides and ceiling.  It has overhead storage cabinets up front and a S5000 "Superwinch" mounted to the floor with battery and battery box so you can winch your car into the trailer with ease.  You don't have to climb out the window of your car!

It will comfortably hold one Viper and two sets of tires / wheels.  Your Viper will be secured by 4 floor mounted "D" rings.  I've never had my car move while in this trailer.  The overhead will hold quite a bit of "stuff" like a wash bucket and wash gear, oil and other fluid, brake pads, tape and probably more spare parts than most of you would need.

It has four new Goodyear trailer tires on chrome rims (and a new spare tire) running on EZ lube wheel bearings and 2; 3500 lb  independent torsion suspension axles (the good ones).

The lower front of the trailer is protected by aluminum tread plate.

It has three doors, one side door, one side ramp door and a large rear ramp door with extension.  You can load your stock height Viper without doing anything special.

It has two interior lights (that run off of the tow vehicle's battery for night loading) and two manual roof vents.

Original cost new was over 10K.  It probably has 12 - 15 K miles on it and has been well cared for.

Title is clear and it's not been in any accidents.

It just made the trip to VOI 11 at considerable speeds without any problems whatsoever.

Asking price on Craig's list will be $6500.00.  Club member asking price is $6000.00.

It will make somebody a great trailer!
