To all Viper owners:

The following is an email that I received from a young man who is interested in taking photos of Vipers.  In exchange, he'll give you one or two free retouched photos of your car.  Please read the email below and respond if you are interested.

Hi Dan,

That's great.  I'm located in Santa Barbara, but am willing to travel.  I'll give one or two free retouched photo quality prints in exchange to each member for letting me take pictures of their car.

Please inform your members that the car will need to be clean and waxed.  I'll need to know where the
member(s) is located, how far they're willing to travel (for shooting locations), and what color the car is before I start shooting.  I'll take pictures of each car for about an hour and a half from just before sunset to maybe 45 mins after depending on the light.

I look forward to hearing from you.  Adam Morris

Hello VCA members,

I have received some requests from club members asking if we could set up a regular monthly or bi-monthly meeting.  FYI, most car clubs hold regular monthly meetings.  I'd like to ask our members for input on this subject.  The location would likely be Orange County as it is centrally located within our area or responsibility.

Other questions remain such as:

1 - Would a breakfast or dinner be best?

2 - Would a weekend or weekday meeting be better for most?  Input thus far has lead me to believe that a weekday dinner at a local restaurant with a meeting room would be best.  If so, which week day?  Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs and are we looking to do Pizza or something like Coco's?  I know that we've been without structure for a while, so is monthly too frequent?  Would bi-monthly be better?

3 - All VCA members would be welcome to attend.

4 - At this meeting, we can disucss upcoming events along with their planning and execution, information from JR Thompson or SRT, methods of increasing membership, fund raising, ideas for future club events and other club issues.

Those of you who use this website are likely the most active in our local club.  Please take a moment and share your thoughts with me.

We are gaining momentum and Cathy and I would like it to continue.  Besides, this will give me a chance to use that gavel that I received when I became President! <9

Thanks,

Hey Guys and Gals,

Check out page 41 of the Summer Edition 2007, VCA Magazine.

The car really looks stunning in that ad, along with the HRE wheels.  This was well worth the time and effort.

Hey California Guys,

I'm trying to put together a Viper track event at Willow Springs on September 22 and 23 with the TCRA. TCRA also offers class room training and in car instructors for beginners.

If we can get 20 or more cars signed up, we can get our own run group. Also, if we can get enough interest, we can set up a group dinner on Saturday night.

Please respond here if you're interested.
Thanks, Dan <2

ATTACHED ARE THE NECESSARY T.C.R.A. FORMS

We've rented garage #4 for our Viper group - give you a place to hang your helmet, get out of the sun, etc.  Recommend bringing a chair or two and maybe something cold to drink.

Hey track guys,

The Touring Car Racing Association will be at Willow Springs on May 26 & 27.  They run events much like Viper Days.  Classroom sessions with instructors for beginners, time trials for intermediate drivers and a race group for the really fast guys.

Prices are very reasonable at $275.00 for 2 day time trials.  Transponders are available for those who want to know their lap times.

Several years ago, we had so many Vipers running with the TCRA that we had our own run groups.

For more info, go to TCRA @ www.touringcarclub.com

The weather is forecast to be mid 80's during the day and mid 50's at night.  It will soon be too warm at WS for me, so I hope to see some of you at the track.

Hey Track Guys,

Same story.  Not too many cars, three run groups, instructors available, low price, 5 sessions of 30 minutes each on Wednesday May 9.

Any interest?

Hey Group,

The SRT Track Experience is coming to Fontana, CA on July 19, 20, 21 & 22, 2007.

We just signed up for the Friday July 20 Event.  If you have an SRT vehicle that was ordered after April 1, 2005 or if you own a 2006 / 2007 model SRT product, you can attend one of these events at no cost.  For all others, the cost is only $500.00 for the one day sessions.  Instructors are from the Richard Petty Driving Experience.

For more info go to:  www.driveSRT.com

See you at the track.

Hey Guys,

We've got one of our Austrailian members, Peter Jackson, in town this weekend and he'd like to meet a few fellow Viper owners.  He's also "sort of" looking for another new Viper.  If you're in town, please stop by the show.

Thanks,

Hey Group,

Here's a link to a web site that I've been using for the last couple of years.  Some of you may not know about this so I thought I'd post it here.  This site contains information and links to all kinds of So Cal car related activities.  Check it out if you're looking for something to do, especially during the summer.  www.socalcarculture.com

Hey Guys,

The OC Pantera Club runs a nice track event at Willow Springs.  We went last time and found it busy but fun.  You get a chance to "run down" Corvettes, Ferraris, Panteras, Porches, etc.  Highlights are as follows:

1 - They have multiple run groups and a race group - lots of track time.
2 - Track fees are only $225 if you sign up before Feb 20 - $250 after and they always sell out.
3 - Passengers are allowed - 18 and over.
4 - You can share a car with a friend.
5 - They also provide instructors.
6 - The atmosphere is relaxed and limited to 120 cars with 4 run groups.

Contact Jim Saxton of West Coast Racing for more info at 626-285-2024.  He'll send you the paperwork.

Thought you guys might like to know.  The Conner Ave Assembly Plant (Viper Plant)  is scheduled to be closed until March or April of 2007.   Tours will not be given until the plant reopens.   We'll send a note advising once the plant reopens.  Once it reopens, we assume VCA member only tours can be scheduled.

This will likely impact availabilty of 2008 Vipers. :'(
