Guy you might want to take off your Lic plates when out on the track. There is a thread on the Nat'l board that insurance companies are canceling policies from youtube track videos. If Geico is doing it, probably won't be long before the rest start looking for proof as well.

It's not a matter of IF your window regulator fails...
It's WHEN are they going to fail...

Mine quit when it was winter time and I had to drive to DCP in 35 degree temps... Not a fun cruise...

Don't know if this is a temporary price drop or permanent...

VPA has them for $295 ea. Have not checked if Parts Rack has them too...

either way at these prices go buy them!

Hey Gang

I met a really talented young artist that has not been in this Country very long. Most of his family are working their way through community college to fulfill their American dream. It would really help their family out a lot if he could do some drawings of your cars, kids or?

Drawings are 16 x 20 for $199 if there's more than one face in the drawing its +$50.00 per face after the first one. If he got a few commissions he would probably give a group discount.

I only have a couple of .jpgs but his work is outstanding and for the price I doubt you can beat it.

If you are interested shoot me a jpg or gif and have Tigran get in touch with you.

I posted a google map on the National Board that is editable by anyone with the link. The discussion was where to have the next VOI and some were talking about concentrations of Viper Owners... SO I created this map.

go to the map.

click edit

locate the box in the upper left hand corner and grab a pin

drop near your location, its not necessary to be exact or add your screen name

once you have dropped your pin on the map, you can change the color of your pin!

click on your pin, a box will appear, then click the blue pin inside the box then choose your color.

If this seems like too much then PM me here or email me and I'll add a pin for you. [email protected]

This was posted over on the main forum. In case anyone is interested. At first they were going to allow your local region to be printed on the shirts if 10 shirts were ordered. Now they are all going to have KC region under the VOI logo.

http://forums.viperclub.org/voi-11-salt-lake-city-9-30-10-03-2010/640523-voi-11-kansas-city-shirts.html

"85 of 200" quote from above link

I just got word there have been complaints about me putting other regions names on the shirts, thinking about it they are right and I really don't have any right to do it. Usually the host region creates VOI shirts to raise money for their local club, so I am sure that Utah/Colorado wouldn't want me to take money away from the shirts they made for the event. That being said I will only offer shirts with Kansas City on them. The price is 125.00 a shirt, yes they are expensive but if you were at VOI you saw they are spectacular. That includes shipping to your door. I ordered 40 shirts for VOI and they were 104.71 each, add 8.00 to 15.00 to ship to your door and the KCVCA has a profit of 5.00 to 15.00 bucks a shirt. I'm not doing to this make a dime, its just because I would want one. I have never seen a shirt like this and thought it was pretty neat. That being said please ignore any mention of changing the Kansas City, I will not. Thanks again, and I am only going to place this order one time, it will not be reoccurring, so I guess you can say these are Special Editions. I'm not in this for the money as you can see, any profit goes to the KCVCA, I was doing this as a favor due to the response we had at VOI.

You can paypal me at [email protected]

or PM me (85 of 200) and ill send you the address if you want to pay with a check.

Elevation is 430 ft, should be good for the drag strip. It's a few years away, but sounds great

Group plans to build Santa Maria track complex

The old Santa Maria track began back in the 1950s and is currently known as Foster Road.  (Sherm Porter photo)

One of the really quiet drag strip construction projects, which the Agent was asked to keep under wraps as far back as last September, is the Santa Maria Motorsports Park, Inc. located in the quiet Santa Maria Valley on California's Central Coast.

This week, President of SMMP, Inc. Steve Foster displayed plans featuring a full quarter-mile drag strip to begin with, a go-cart track, a two-and-a-half mile road course, three-quarter mile paved oval, sand drags and dirt bullring-type motocross arena as well as an on-site tech and training center.  All of complex is to be built in stages, with an eighth-mile drag strip and go-cart track to start.

Foster and his corporate board have not yet secured a site for the complex, but have four possible parcels, which could be annexed by the City of Santa Maria as part of the master plan. Once secured, the annexation by the city can take up to eighteen months. The timeframe for completion is four to five years away.

In a newspaper interview, Foster made it clear that they were not asking for any taxpayer funding and that the motorsports complex is privately funded. "We welcome investors on all levels at this time," said Foster, "but we have not approached local racer Alan Johnson."

Foster has been summoned before the City Planning Department next week, since the plans are to keep the complex within the City of Santa Maria limits. In an interview with the Agent, Foster added, "IHRA is the only sanctioning body that has come out here and offered to help."

The Santa Maria area is also getting ready for their 7th annual Cruzin' For Life event that raised over $100,000 to support cancer-related causes and for the Marian Cancer Center last year.

Drag racers will be featured in a burnout and wheelstand exhibition on Sept. 26. Cars appearing there will be Bob Vance's wheelstanding "Crazy Horse" funny car and "Inferno" jet truck, Gino Ofria and his A/GS '57 Chevy, many doorslammers and Mike Halstead driving "McCain's Bomb Squad" nitro funny car.
