<o Hey Guy's that's one of my favorite roads, The last big rain took out the lower part of the 2 from La Canada up !
However ... .. . You can take Sunland Blvd to Oro Vista and get up that way, The big fire took alot of forest with it
BUT It's still strangely Beautyful

Yep - The Oro Vista route is the plan.
So Joel - does this mean you'll make the run with us %?
Any idea of the "meeting up" time in the morning for this event?
Hey Guy's, I went to Newcomb's today, 4 of us went up on motorcycles <o If DOC is reading this, We went very slow and Safe, The "Station fire" was Huge, the views are Spectacular, By May 22nd It should be Perfect.
joel >l
You know how to go SLOW ??? >w
I'm glad you are being Safe....wouldn't want my adopted Daddy to get hurt !
Hey Guys,
We need to rustle up a good crowd to visit the "Cheese Man's" house.
He may even have his GTSR back by then.
Dan <2
Agreed Dan! I saw the menu for Newcombs and it looks really good. I plan to be there as long as there is no special delivery that week.
I'm in !
>u
When I was talking to Michael about this event he mentioned the route we are going to take is "world renowned" and that several auto and motorcyclist enthusiasts come from all over the world to drive it.
Lance, Depending on what time the run ends we can hit up The Hat for a pastrami dip! http://www.thehat.com/menu.htm =19
PASTRAMI !! I'm in....I missed out last time you guys went.
Eddie is in will so if Michelle can go sounds like a good time, thank you Michael.
Hey Guys,
Lunch is part of the plan.
Take a look at the first post .....
Dan
Dan, We know about lunch, I helped Cathy get ahold of Suzy the manager at Newcombs, Lance and I are thinking about having the Hat for linner (the meal between lunch and dinner =19) since the last time we were in Pasadena at the Rose Bowl we missed out, feel free to join us it's the spot we went to after the Meguiars commercial shoot a few years ago.
You know Art....He's eating for 2 ! =19
My wife is due to have our third child on the 19th, you guys think she'd let me sneak away so soon after %?
Hey Mark,
Congrats, according to Gary Belvedere there's nothing for new fathers to do during the first week so were free to enjoy ourselves. Besides it's not like we can breastfeed >v

Please add Peter K. to the list.
I'm in!
Thanks,

My former patient, OriginalRoot, is now a member of the "Not-So-Smart Club" getting back on his motorcycle. Some how the concept of "Going Slow" reducing one's risk on a bike, beyond me the logic. Anyway, I am in for this one also. This must be the holiday season as I can make probably the next 3 runs for the spring season. The Santa of Viper Cruises, in the Spring is good!
=a
Does anyone here believe that OriginalRoot went slow on his motorcycle through the Angeles Crest? (http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm287/AtomicGT/bs.gif)
Please put Nino and Ruth on the list. It's been 15 years since I've been up there. Great views.
Thanks, Nino
Nino,
Are you going to join Lance and me for Linner?
Is PCH VIPER bringing his SUV on this on?

Sorry Art, lost my head.
I just need to get with the plan.
Let's see, there's breakfast, brunch, lunch, linner, supper, dinner and of course dessert!
I used to know these things when I was younger.
Guess I'm getting CRS, like OGO did.
Dan
No worries Dan, we all have occasional bouts with CRS >v
Please add point by Eddie.
Thank you
If Fast Eddie from Long Beach is going, I am in also.
Is anyone updating the list of attendees?
Can I assume the Birkshire address is the residence? <t
Where is the car show? =15

Hey MoparMan, we're staying about 5 mi. from your hotel (a little closer in to the meeting place), and can't make it there till after 9PM Friday. How about hooking up at the Starbucks right near the car show meet area about 730AM on Saturday if you want to grab coffee. I see one on the map; otherwise we don't know anything about the area as we're pretty new to this area. Our cell number is 760-842-3103. - Paul & Pam
Art & Eddie,

Hey Lance,
Melissa & I will see you guys at Spaghettinis.
G.B.
Barring any unforeseen circumstances with the reinstall of my intake and injectors, I will attend this event with my buddy Anthony. Though we will probably not be able to roll in until the tail end of the car show. But you can all see my shiny, newly polished intake <1
Hey Demoe,
I will be on standby with the wife waiting for the baby to arrive, so unfortunately I will be missing this run, not sure about Mr. Reinsma. Have fun.
Hey Hemotox,
What time are you meeting at Moraga and 405? Anyone else cruising up through the westside?
Banzai,
Your call, if you want to bypass the ca show, that is okay by me, we get to the breakfast at 9:00 AM?
Let me know. OriginalRoot is in Hawai'i so not sure who else fromt he west side is planning on the run.

As I recall, there's a bagel place with coffee in the same parking lot as the car show but I'm going by memory since I haven't lived in La Canada since '99. Anyway, sounds good - see you at 7:30 tomorrow. We'll be the only ones with Nevada plates or you can get me at 702-524-1917.

It looks like we go 405 N -134 E -2 N and it'll take about 30 min.

Just a little education about the significance of Mt. Wilson even though there was no one to tell us about what was discovered here in the 1920s
"The Universe goes beyond the Milky Way galaxy
Edwin Hubble's arrival at Mount Wilson, California, in 1919 coincided roughly with the completion of the 100-inch (2.5 m) Hooker Telescope, then the world's largest telescope. At that time, the prevailing view of the cosmos was that the universe consisted entirely of the Milky Way Galaxy. Using the Hooker Telescope at Mt. Wilson, Hubble identified Cepheid variables (a kind of star; see also standard candle) in several spiral nebulae, including the Andromeda Nebula. His observations, made in 1922–1923, proved conclusively that these nebulae were much too distant to be part of the Milky Way and were, in fact, entire galaxies outside our own. This idea had been opposed by many in the astronomy establishment of the time, in particular by the Harvard University-based Harlow Shapley. Hubble's discovery, announced on January 1, 1925, fundamentally changed the view of the universe.
Hubble also devised the most commonly used system for classifying galaxies, grouping them according to their appearance in photographic images. He arranged the different groups of galaxies in what became known as the Hubble sequence." Wikipedia
So we were walking in Edwin Hubble's footsteps, despite all the hikers!

Another interesting fact, in 1926 Albert Abraham Michelson made what was the most precise calculation of the speed of light at the time by measuring the round-trip travel time of light between Mount Wilson and Mount San Antonio 22 miles (35 km) away.

Wonder what the pulsed electro-magnetic field strength was when we were up there? I think Lance's GTS was glowing a little when he left the mountain top. SSG vipers repell microwave radiation. It only makes the pain a brighter green, hee hee
Looks pretty intense as a point for communication broadcast antennae!

The Mount Wilson Electronics Reservation consists of numerous radio and television transmitters serving the Greater Los Angeles Area, together with microwave relay facilities used by AT&T and other entities. The tallest tower on Mount Wilson, according to FCC database, is the guyed mast of KCBS-TV at a height of 972 feet (296.3 m), built in 1986.

Kala,
Excellent photography, especially the road shots. I don't remember going up any of those green covered canyons, all the canyons I drove through were burned out or in the wrong direction, or the road was covered with rocks.
Hope I didn't throw any on to the front end of EXHLR8N's black snake???
Hemotox, I think we took the scenic route several times >m
Kala
HaHa, I don't remember much scenery, do remember the Cal Trans workers, long stretches of bad lands and some quite narrow roads on cliffs..... a great time! Oh and driving most of the way in 3rd gear! >t
For all of us who went on this run, there is another one next month with superb food and vistas.
