It is around 70 miles and less time than is estimated on the map around 1/2 hour to the poppy reserve and 1/2 hour from there to lunch. From Le Chen restaurant to the 14 freeway is around 5 miles will put you at the Sandcanyon on ramp in Canyon Country 91351.

Edouard très à grande vitesse!  (Fast Eddie),  I will be there, we can't have Arturo del Toro's Orange California Poppy colored rag top SRT10 without a Snake Skin Green Leaf SRT10 there for the pictures at the "The Oak" (Le Chene) restaurant in Santa Clarita.

We need to have some eye candy in competition for the Flying Hawai'ian's ACR~, we all know the ACRs are a little slower at top end than the SRT10s, right!

Somehow I think the ACR looks more attractive in a light pink with a green stripe!!! N'est Pas??? >g

So let me get this straight,  the Flyin' Hawai'ian is bringing an SUV to this run?  Is that what I am reading in these posts???

He must have a fear of SSG and Pumpkin Orange Vipers!   =14

If he is bringing his cooler, then it should have some cold Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin BRUT!!!   >t

Eddie,  I was telling my tax guy about our Poppy Run, he's in a Corvette Club, they also do a Poppy Run and then he tells me about this "Musical Road" that they visited while out there. I had never heard about it before but it looks pretty cool. I'm not suggesting that we change anything but thought you may want to consider it for next year. Here's a couple of links if anyone is interested in checking it out.

West LA meets here.

There is an easy meet up place in West LA for those coming up the 405.  Take the Moraga exit, next exit past Sunset, north of I-10.  There is a Chevron gas station and a parking lot for the Bel Air Bar and Grill restaurant on the southeast side of Moraga directly across from the stop sign and the Morage exit.  We have met here before, ViperX would know or should remember.

Orange County meets here.

I'll be at Spaghettini's at 7:00 and will leave by 7:15.
We can take the 405 and make a quick stop at the Chevron off Moraga sometime around 7:45.
We can meet the other's at the Denny's off the 5 and Roxford around 8:15.
From there we can shoot into Santa Clarita.

I found an image of your viper as it appeared ahead of the Flyin' Hawai'ian's ACR!

looks like the California poppy color!  (Notice the Snake Skin Green Brake Calipers)

San Fernando Meeting Place

Take the 5 north from the 405, exit right on Roxord.  Roxford Chevron and an Denny's parking lot are 1/2 block from Freeway exit going east.  Pull into the Denny's lot.  Quick place for coffee and petro.  Arturo del Toro is correct, it is a "Denny's" restaurant.

Hey Doc,

You need to edit the San Fernando location, there is no IHOP, it's a Denny's my good man.  I don't care what Google Maps has to say about there being an IHOP there.

That picture of Fast Eddie's Viper is too sweet, since you haven't been at many of the events you don't know that we've renamed him "Point-by Eddie" for he is no longer that fast  =6

Doc Rye Canyon has no off ramp going North the best way is to keep going North get off at Hwy126 / Newhall Ranch Road at end of off ramp turn right puts you on Newhall Ranch Road go about 1.5 to 2 miles turn left on Copperhill about 3 miles to McBean Pky turn right head on down about 2 miles you will see Ralph's on left side you can turn in there or at the stop light onto Decoro turn left and left into parking lot. Edouard tres a grande vitesse,

Sounds okay, for us simpletons, hows about exiting on McBean or Valencia to McBean and then north to Starbucks?  Can't find Hwy 126 on the map.   We  %p %c %h  %v %i %p %e %r  SUV followers can get confused quickly!
Title: Re: POPPY RESERVE RUN & BRUNCH - "SUNDAY" MAY 2nd
Post by: HISSSN1 on April 29, 2010, 09:26:40 PM
Doc you can take either but 126 / Newhall Ranch road is easier it is not on the map it is a new off ramp it is the 3rd off ramp after you pass the Mcbean off ramp coming north you get Mcbean, Valencia, Magic Mountain and then 126 Ventura / Newhall Ranch get in the right lane right after you pass the truck scales all will lead to Mcbean but a lot of through town with stop lights I use 126 / Newhall Ranch exit it is about 1 to 2 miles longer but a lot faster, watch your speed around the I 5 after you come down the hill over the pass C H P always out looking with laser  <F  on the weekends.

Doc NO WAY in a VIPER, I paid for special parking for the group to park in we still have to pay $8 to get in, the lot was repaved early in the year is is very nice. At brunch we have great parking too I put this run together keeping in mind the parking of VIPERS in a safe area. Michelle and I did a dry run today the flowers are awesome slight wind at times a light jacket would be a good idea to be on the safe side I was in shorts and a t/shirt. The weather today was great and there was a lot of people there. See you in the am.  Eddie

Hope you guys had a good time.  I enjoyed getting lost on the Newhall Ranch Road and stumbling on to the parking lot with Original Root there waiting for us and tanning his legs!

Point Bye Eddie, ORVIPER looked great!  PCH VIPER the SUV also looked good!  I think it becomes you much more than a snake!
