THERE IS A 50-CAR LIMIT FOR THIS AZ REGION EVENT AND IT'S EXPECTED TO SELL OUT SO REGISTER A.S.A.P.

Several of our Viper Club members have attended previous Barrett Jackson Collector Car Auctions.  If you aren't familiar with Barrett Jackson, here's a link to   their website: http://www.barrett-jackson.com .

Next year, Barrett Jackson will run from January 12-20, 2008.  Traditionally, some Viper Club members have attended the second Saturday as this is the day that the most unique and expensive cars are auctioned.  The Viper Club members meet at Ed Moses Dodge – 1-mile from the show – and caravan to a "premier" location, the Monterra restaurant only 10 steps from the main auction tent!  We then meet back at the restaurant for a "cowboy" style lunch.

This event is coordinated by the AZ Viper Club.  Usually, there are 50+ Vipers from around the country that make this event.  At this time, we do not know the cost of admittance to Barrett Jackson, as soon as we do, we'll let you know.

SUNDAY - Sept 16th - Visit to CAMP PENDLETON ^3

ALL VIPER OWNERS ARE INVITED! OVER 30-CARS SO FAR!

Many Americans would like to show our men and women in the military that we appreciate their service to our country. Therefore, we have organized an opportunity for the SoCal Viper Club to put on a car show for these folks at Camp Pendleton.

We've been approved to visit our Marines SUNDAY, September 16th. We will be visiting the School of Infantry (SOI) where all Marines go after boot camp prior to deployment or assignment.  Marines injured during training are also housed here.  We will park the cars – in a "car show" type setting around the School of Infantry's emblem on their Parade Deck. Our visit will be from 1500 to 1800 hours (3PM to 6PM) and will be in conjunction with a church group that will be putting on a BBQ for the SOI.  We've been told that we should expect 500 to as many as 2,000 Marines!!!

The base newspaper will be covering this event and they have arranged for a couple of helicopters to fly over and take photos!
  ^2

Dan and I visited the base today for a "walk-through" with Captain Hayter from the Wounded Warrior Battalion – the look on the faces of the guys as we drove our Viper on base was a very cool site.  Their fun comments began the minute we pulled up to the base entrance.  We found out that the majority of those in SOI don't get an off-base leave until the 8-weeks of training is complete.  This event will be quite special for them. We will need a dozen or so cars – with an empty passenger seat – to caravan to the Wounded Warrior Battalion, pickup a Marine, and caravan back to SOI for the car show.  Please let us know if you can help with this.

The reason for this visit is to say "thank you" to the Marines for their service to our country.  There is no other agenda than to show our gratitude.  This date is approaching fast, so if you'd like to attend please let us know.

OVERHAULN' CHIP FOOSE IS LETTING US COME BACK!

Last year member Lance Kouchi strolled in to Chip Foose's place and said he thought the Viper Club would like to meet him and tour his facility.  We did, it was great, and we're invited back!

This is a FRIDAY event... We're scheduled to be at Foose Design in Huntington Beach at 12:00 Noon.  After the visit, we'll caravan to Lance's home, also in Huntington Beach, where a Late Lunch or Early Dinner will be provided.  This event won't cost you anything - just bring your smiling face AND your Viper of course   ;D.

This event falls at lunch hour - so plan accordingly (FYI there is a little sandwich shop next door to Foose Design.)

8th Annual Cruisin' For A Cure

Cruisin' For A Cure is the world's largest one-day car show dedicated to helping find a cure for Prostate Cancer.

All of your entry fee goes directly to the UCLA Jonsson Cancer Center for prostate cancer research... not a penny goes to a car club, administration, or individuals!

Show is limited to first 3,400 entries!  Last year was a sell-out and cars were turned away.

Orange County Fair & Expo Center, Costa Mesa CA
Car Show 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Gates open to participants at 4:30AM
www.curisinforacure.com

Open to all rods, customs, muscle & classic cars, Vipers, Corvettes, trucks, specialty vehicles, and PT Cruisers.

The plan is to meet at the Starbucks on the northeast corner of Fairview and Baker at 6:00 am.  We can get coffee and then head over to the OC Fairgrounds at 6:30am as a group.

My understanding is that they have blocked out 14 spots for the SoCal Viper club....but in years past the Prowler club has so many cars that they take our spots as well....  Whut?! >1

If you have any questions, please contact Lance Kouchi at: [email protected].
