Hey Gang,
Title says it all.
WEATHER PERMITTING, a group of us are planning to drive Buttonwillow, Race configuration #13 clockwise, with Speed Ventures this weekend. This is a Sunday/Monday event.
As you know, Buttonwillow is a great track for everyone from beginners to advanced drivers.
Go to: www.SpeedVentures.com (http://www.speedventures.com) for more info.
More info to follow.
See you at the track,
Dan <2
Hey Dan - I was thinking of introducing the boys (Tom and Kurt) to car racing. Does it make sense to hire an instructor for the weekend to work with them, or should I put them in a driving school like Ron Fellows?
So far, the driving schools seem very pricey, in excess of $3,000 each.
What are your thoughts? Thanks.
Call Bob Blizzard at 858-748-0304
Can also help with instruction on Sunday.
Cool.
Thanks Jonathan.
Now, let's pray for good weather!
Dan
Weather looks sunny during the day, cool and clear at night.
Bob Blizzard just signed up.
Cathy and I just reserved a garage.
See you at the track,
Dan <2
I'm thinking of showing up to "Groupie Out" on Sunday. I will request a white knuckler ride from #26.
In return I'll bring Steph's "Killer Eggnog" as parting gifts. <1
I'm in if I can find some used 18" Hoosiers before then. If anyone knows of anyone getting rid of some, let me know!
Ken,
Did you decide on 335 x 30 x 18 or 345 x 35 x 18 rears?
I have some used 345 x 35 x 18 Hoosier R6s, but they are a bit tall for a GTS.
Let me know.
There is a tire mounting shop at BW and I can bring a couple of used rears for you, say $50 per tire?

Thank you Dan! I just happened to be speaking with Tim Jelli yesterday about brakes and it turned out he had a pair of barely used 335x30x18's sitting around (and 315x30x18's) he wanted to sell. He was able to ship them yesterday, so as long as they show up tomorrow, as scheduled, I'm golden.
I signed up today. I hope some more people can come out and play! Aaron says there will only be a handful Monday.
Ken,
Glad to hear that.
Monday should be a blast as the track will be very open.
See you at the track,
Dan
Finally signed up yesterday and looking forward to it !

"Killer Eggnog" is an understatement, put some in the Voodoo and you will beat the track record.

registered for Sunday. Dan did you get a garage?
Jonathan and others,
Yes, I rented garage 8 which is the far end unit.
We'll be getting in late Saturday night and will hopefully be able to unload the car.
Look for the graphite trailer with Viper on the sides and back.
Looking forward to driving with you guys.
See you at the track,
Dan
Well,
This had to be the coldest track weekend I've ever been to. Sunday 8AM temps were 34 F while Monday 8AM temps were 28 F, soooo, most of us did not drive the first session and I passed on the second session too.
It did warm up both days with some sunshine and temps got into the mid 50's in the afternoon, so we did get some pretty good laps in.
The red group that I ran in averaged about 50 "off track" excursions each day, so the track wasn't very sticky early and was dusty later in the day due to the "offs". There were some very fast guys driving this weekend as it was a "Time Attack" challenge weekend.
Merry Christmas to all.
See you at the track next year.
Dan <2
Dan, you have any video from that Sunday?
I think I do. Took more video on Monday.
Jonathan - I took video every session, however, we were not running in the same group and I'm assuming that you are looking for someone in your group; if otherwise, let me know.
