October 31, 2010, 02:00:02 PM
Hey Guys,

Check out this video of Spring Mountain taken Sunday, Oct 24, 2010 at Viper Days.

It's short; I only ran a couple of laps before having brake issues then decided to cool the car down and come in.

SUPERCAR SUNDAY CAR SHOW (not our Viper car show & run) - September 26th

The Cobra Club has initiated a Cobra vs. Viper at this monthly car show.  So if you're not doing anything and you'd like to support the Viper, please do!

This is not our Supercar Sunday Viper Run scheduled for October 17th.  The show knew the Viper club was planning an event for Oct. 17th and the Cobra Club decided to go with a different date (wonder if this was intentional  >m )

Hours - 7AM to 10AM

Here's the website:  http://www.supercarsunday.com/index.php

VIPER CLUB FAMILY PICNIC - Saturday, August 7th

Laguna Niguel Regional Park is a great venue that works well for our members and their families - with ample, safe parking for our Vipers.  We have a large shaded structure against the hillside adjacent to a large grassy field and sand volleyball court.

Darci, a caricature artist to do a little
drawing of you with your Viper;
or you could have a drawing with you
and your family, or a friend...or two.
How about all of the above...
should be fun!

  • Tulsa Rib Company will again cater this event - their food is too good not to have them back.
  • We'll again have the "jumper" for the kids - or the adults if they feel like indulging.
  • We'll definitely have a tug-o-war.  The Gen I, II guys need another chance   ;).
  • The water balloon toss is in and of course;
  • We'll want to raffle some goodies again.

This is an event for singles, couples or the whole family - bring your kids, grand kids, parents or grandparents - maybe even a sibling or two!

Place:    Laguna Niguel Regional Park
28241 La Paz Rd., Laguna Niguel, CA
           (949) 923-2240 or (949) 923-2243
The Large Group Shelter or LGS.  Enter the park; turn right, Shelter 1/4 mile up on right.

CLICK HERE FOR MAP TO PARK

CLICK HERE FOR VIPER CLUB LOCATION AT PARK

Time:   10:30 AM

Lunch:  Served by noon

Cost:   $5 Park Vehicle Entry Fee - paid upon entry
          $22.50 per Person - $11.50 for Children 4 to 10 - Free for Children under 3
          Picnic paid in advance please.

Big Bear Run & Lunch

This run to Big Bear is a lot of fun and worth the trip!  We'll approach the mountain from the east and snake our way up the back way.  This makes for a better run with less traffic.

This year we're having lunch at Evergreen International Restaurant.  The restaurant overlooks the lake, they're going to block off parking for us and the menu looks quite tasty! ^2

Our final meeting place before we head up the hill will be The Home Depot parking lot.  There is a 7-Eleven with gas here if needed plus snacks, coffee, etc...

Pick the meeting place that best suits you and your schedule.

The AZ Viper Club is putting the Barrett-Jackson Event together this year – here are their details along with an attached flyer.  If you're interested in attending the auctions, they request you R.S.V.P. by January 8th.  I realize this is late notice, and for that I apologize.

Note from Rich Link, AZ Club President:
Our event this year includes a continental breakfast at Bill Luke Dodge, and entry to BOTH Russo and Steele and Barrett-Jackson auctions.  As always, we would love to have your So Cal members join us again this year!   I've attached our flyer, which you can forward to your members.  We look forward to seeing you again in January!

On Saturday, Jan 23rd, at

8:30am meet at:  Bill Luke Chrysler Jeep Dodge

Hello Viper Club Members!

This year we have a very special donation from Viper Club Member, Lance Kouchi.  He has handcrafted and customized this beautiful Ukulele for some very lucky member!  This is to be auctioned off at the Christmas Party next weekend.  We have opened up the auction for all members to bid (whether you can attend the party or not).  Lance's hand crafted Ukuleles have sold for thousands of dollars...before customizing.

If you're interested in this beautiful instrument, sign in and place your bid.  If you  have trouble signing in, please feel free to email me.
[email protected]

The Ukulele is made from Koa wood, with wood accents of Mango, Ebony,
Curly Maple and Rosewood, along with inlaid Abalone shell.
Lance has invested well over 50-hours in the build.
An embroidered case is also included.

If you're serious about winning and cannot make the Christmas Party, find someone attending that can do your bidding via phone  <1

CAR CONTROL CLINIC at Auto Club Speedway - November 7, 2009
Last year this event sold out - so register early!

THIS EVENT IS DRIZZLE OR SHINE  <Z

Do you ever feel like taking your Viper out into an empty parking lot and doing some donuts just for fun?

Wouldn't you love to go out and burn some rubber and not get a ticket?

Have you ever wanted to take some turns on the street fast enough to slide the car and exceed its limits, without the chance of hitting something or someone?

Would you like to explore your Viper's limits in a safe, legal environment and learn to handle your beast better?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, Viper Club Car Control Clinic is something you just won't want to miss.

The date is November 7th at Auto Club Speedway off Cherry Avenue and the I-10 Freeway in Fontana.  We have rented a large parking lot approximately 1000 x 1200 feet.  The club will provide lunch.
DC Performance will be there to help with the event and offer minor services to all the attendees.
Bob Blizzard, Viper Days' Chief Driving Instructor, and a host of other experienced drivers will be there to provide instruction.

We'll have four stations as follows:

STATION #1 - Is a "small" figure 8 around cones where an instructor rides with you and instructs each driver and offers input / advice on how the car feels, what the car is doing and how to best control it while turning left and right.  I know this will be a long day for our instructors but they should have some fun too.

STATION #2
- Is a timed AutoX type slalom course.  It starts with a short "straight", proceeds "through the cones", followed by a 180 degree left turn at speed, then back through the cones and past      the timer.  We'll see if we can rustle up some prizes for this station.

STATION #3 - Is a "0 to 60" with the driver doing a "threshold" brake after reaching 60 mph.  DC Performance's Lyle Larson spent years as a professional drag racer and went as fast 6.32 at 220.51-mph in an alcohol car.  Lyle will provide instruction at this station.  We'll have a drag racers "tree" so that we can learn how a tree works and test our reaction times.

STATION #4 -  Is a "large" figure 8 around cones where an instructor rides with and instructs each driver and offers input / advice on how the car feels, what the car is doing and how to best control it while turning left and right.

We plan to have a leader at each station.  We will also need a "helper" at each station to pick up/reset the cones (not that any of you will hit any cones).  Please let us know if you can help us with this event.  I will likely "ask" my sons to come and help (they will get a chance to drive later as payment). We plan to have a pop up at each station for shade and ask members to bring their own chairs and something to drink - the club will provide drinks for lunch.

Plan to arrive at 9:30AM the event will start at 10:00AM with lunch at about noon and be completed about 3:00 PM. This would give each group of drivers about an hour at each station.

For insurance reasons, we will need to limit participation to club members and their immediate family.  All participants must have a valid Drivers License and current auto insurance.  Helmets are recommended but not required.

This event is being heavily subsidized by the club; cost is only $100 per car.  Participants are limited to a total of 50 cars, so sign up early; you won't want to miss this event!
