C'on people. Snakes are not afraid of a little water.
Just think of that huge rooster tail behind you during the Auto-X.

While there is a chance of rain, I have been talking with the organizers and they are confident that the weather will be just fine for Saturday.

Many of us are driving out on Friday with only a small chance of catching any rain. Those who are driving out on Saturday morning will have to leave pretty early in the morning in order to get to Fantasy Springs on time, so hopefully you'll beat whatever rain there might be west of the mountains.

Pack some micro fiber towels and detailer and all will be good.

I hear that there are 15 Corvettes coming from OC on Sat morning to get a piece of the action.  I'm sure they'll be laughing at us if we didn't show because of a little rain.   >1

Still excellent here in the desert but it looks like it is going to change.  Hopefully the forecasters are wrong and it is a great day

The rest of the world would be amazed to see our anguish about a predicted 1/4" of rain. >m

Can't tell you how many times I worried about predicted weather events that never happened.

Saturday is St. Patricks' Day. Green cars should get a little head start <2

Well got home a few hrs ago from the Auto X event. I had a lot of fun. Was able to take my Viper out in a close course and get a better feel for the car. I now feel even more comfortable driving it now knowing the car just that much better. My best time was a 44.1 not bad IMO for my first time doing an auto x event.

Drove home most of the way in the rain and at times it was beyond pouring rain. The drive home was not enjoyable at all.  =17
But the Awesome time i had with everyone this weekend made up for it!  <1

This was my 2nd so-cal Viper event ive been to since i purchased my first Viper about 6 months ago.
I met a lot of new people and I really enjoyed talking with everyone and getting to know you all.

BIG Thanks to everyone who help put this together I will be there again next year ready to do some more battle with the Vette's!

Here are some pics and a video of one of my runs i did today.
Enjoy!

well 2 actually...

we won over all fastest lap time.
And we won the over all fastest lap time with the top 5 fastest viper times VS the top 5 vette times. we killed the vettes! :)

And we will be back next year to do it again!
was a lot of fun! best part was the rain held off long enough for us to race are cars around :)

What a great weekend out in the Palm Desert !   I know it was a really tough decision for many to cancel out due to the rains , but for those that drove out on Friday and left on Sunday, the weather really wasn't much of a factor.   Despite Mother Nature, we still had 20 hungry Snakes out at the Corvette Charity Auto-x.

You could see the dark ominous clouds all around us up on the mountain tops, but the winds were very calm and the temperatures were perfect.

I cannot Thank the Palm Springs Corvette Club for their gracious hospitality !  What a Class Act and great bunch of people.

I also want to Thank Anthony for putting in countless hours of work setting up everything from Hotel to maps for all of us and making sure that every detail was taken care of.   >t
