I need to replace my battery in my 2009 Viper ACR. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

What are your recommendations for a trickle charger for my 2009 ACR?  I have not been driving it much and it seems hard to crank. The battery is just over 2 years old.

I will be driving it a lot more during the next few months but I am wondering if I need to get a trickle charger to prevent it from not starting when I want to join everybody for an event.

This is a great video. It is a little long but the good part starts at 7:20 with the ACR.

Miscellaneous Discussions / 2106 Tour D' Orange
December 28, 2015, 08:23:37 AM
I have gone to this event for the last few years and it is a lot of fun with a LOT of cars (150-200 usually).  We meet on New Year's Day starting at 6:30am.

Tour D' Orange Meetpoint:
Where: 300 Fischer Ave. Costa Mesa

Take-off: 9:00 am SHARP

***Corner of Fischer Ave & Red Hill Ave, Costa Mesa, CA 92626

https://www.facebook.com/events/581090025381325/

We usually cruise down to PCH via MacArthur Blvd, then PCH to Laguna Canyon, make our way through Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, etc , the Live Oak Canyon Rd (very twisty with trees forming a tunnel over the road, turn right at Cook's Corner onto Santiago Canyon Road.

The cruise then turns left on Jamboree Rd and heads back to the starting point, but this is where I leave the cruise and head home.

I hope we have some more Vipers there this year.  There are usually 2 or 3 but last year I saw only one other one.

Upcoming Events of Interest / Tour D'Orange
December 28, 2014, 05:56:21 AM
I have been going to the Tour D'Orange event for the last few years.  It is held every Jan 1 and it is about a 2 hour cruise down MacArthur to PCH to Laguna Canyon Rd, then up through El Toro, Rancho Santa Margarita, Live Oak Canyon Rd (a great, windy drive), north on Santiago Canyon Rd. When we get to Jamboree I leave the cruise and head home as it is close to my house, but they continue south on Jamboree.  At least that is the route they have been taking.  It could change but they have not for a few years.  And no cars on the road at 7am on New Year's day!

The last few years I did not see any other Vipers, but it is a big event so maybe you were there!  Hope to see more Vipers; let me know if you will be there and I will look for you.

Do a Google search on Tour D'Orange and you will see a lot of information, pictures, videos.  Many great cars and lots of them.

Tour d' Orange 2015 at the corner of Fischer Ave and Redhill in Costa Mesa,

I am heading to Cars and Coffee on Jan. 18.  I don't get a chance often to do this, so I hope to see other Vipers there!

Upcoming Events of Interest / Annual Tour d'Orange
December 28, 2011, 07:59:10 AM
Anybody thinking about going to this annual So Cal event?  I will be out of town until late in the week but if I am back by Sunday morning (yes, Jan 1, 2012), I will try to make it.

Information about it is posted on most of the exotic car forums.  Here is the post from one of those sites:

2012 "Tour d'Orange". Arguably the first car event of the year. January 1st 2012.
8th Annual "Tour d'Orange". Now a Southern California tradition for many and arguably the first car event of the New Year. Meet Sunday morning January 1st at the corner of Fisher and Redhill in Costa Mesa. Arrive by 8:30 AM, maps at 8:45 AM, DEPART AT 9 AM. There is no formal notice besides this. All cars welcome.

I have participated a couple of times and it is fun.  No too many people on the road at 9am on New Years Day.  If you are going I suggest you get there by 8am.  Hope to see you there!

When I was at Tuttle-Click Irvine this morning I was told that a damaged (totaled) black ACR was brought into their body shop yesterday.  Is everyone ok out there?

How many quarts of oil are needed for a oil/filter change?  I did the first one on my '09 ACR (thanks to Lance and his hoist), and I remember having 2 quarts left over from the dozen I bought @ $6.99 per quart.  But when I checked with the local dealer (Tuttle-Click Irvine) I was told it will take 11 quarts @ $13.70 per quart. Is it reasonable to have to add 1 quart for the filter change in addition to the 10 qt capacity?

Is anybody interested in taking a cruise with many different brands of cars?  I have attended this New Year's morning cruise previously and had a lot of fun.  I will be there if it is not raining.  Be there as early as possible because the line gets VERY long.  I could not attend last year, so if somebody did, please add your comments.

Arrive by 8:30 AM, maps at 8:45 AM, DEPART AT 9 AM. This scenic drive will take approximately 2 hours and terminate at the In N Out Burger at "The District" in Tustin. There is no formal notice besides this. All cars welcome. Please pass this notice to your respective car clubs and like minded enthusiasts.

Upcoming Events of Interest / Storage for my Viper
January 06, 2009, 05:07:30 AM
I am looking for a storage place for my 1999 RT/10 for a few months.  Does anybody have a warehouse or large area (for example, at your business) which I could use?  Thanks.

Viper Help! / Good mechanic in Orange County?
December 20, 2005, 04:33:59 PM
I have used Dave Jenkins since I bought my '99 in June 1999.  He has done a great job for me.  But I have tried to reach him recently and he is not returning my calls.  I even stopped by his shop and nobody was home.  The place next to him said that he is not there very much.  Anybody know what is going on?  Dave, are you out there?

So I may be looking for a good Viper mechanic, preferably close to Anaheim Hills.  I have had my car to Dan
Cragin, who is also fantastic, but Santa Monica is just too far for me to go.  Does anybody have any suggestions?  I also need to get some warranty work done before it comes off its extended warranty early next year.  Does anybody have any good reports for dealers?  How about Foothill Dodge or Huntington Beach Dodge?  Thanks.
