Title: 1998 Gen II Double Clutching / Synchros
Post by: Omid on October 31, 2017, 01:37:11 PM
Question... Does the 1998 Viper GTS have Synchros while shifting, or would i need to use the Double Clutch technique while Rev Matching on a Down Shift?

Just purchased my first Viper so I'm trying to learn more about the proper driving techniques.

Welcome to the Viper Family Omid !

The Viper trans has synchros so no need to double clutch.
There is definitely a technique that Viper guys use when running up or down thru the gears.
Gen 2 transmission shift pattern takes a bit to get the feel for.
It can be disastrous if you go from 5th to 2nd.

Keep an eye on the Forums for upcoming events and come out and meet the other Viper owners.  All are really great people and will give you lots of tips and advice.

Where are you located?

Lance

The Auto-x is a great place to go out and push the car.  It is a safe controlled environment and you will learn a lot about the characteristics of your car's handling.

Reach out to Scott  (Speedtactics on the forums here).  He knows the Gen 2 well and is one of the faster guys at Auto-x.
